Because it doesn't require any modifications to run 35s.
Here's 46 pages of people doing exactly that. https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/jlu-rubicon-on-35s-no-lift.7290/
Sure, if you're judging the need for modification on 1% of use case. I have two friends in JLURs stock everything except 35" KO2s on stock rims. They wheel the hell out of them, all over Colorado and Utah. But go ahead and pull out that tiny fractional situation to try to prove your point. (y)(y)
They did run it through the Rubicon and several of the harder trails in Moab, to much fanfare and publicity. However, I would put all those trails solidly within that 80-90% margin.
At full articulation and fully wheel lock, you'll get light rubbing on the inner fender liner. Easily ignored, or fixable by replacing the inner fender liner or running a slightly more offset rim.
You seem to be taking this thread awfully personally, and I honestly couldn't care less, but I feel the need to correct you on a couple of these points.
Points 1 and 2: a JLR can run and wheel on 35s with absolutely no other modifications. The same can be achieved for 37s with a 2" lift. That's...
As someone who ended up passing on the Bronco because it became apparent it would not do what I want to do with my 4x4, this thread is hilarious. Go hunt back to all the, wHy D03sN't Th3 Br0nc0 h@Ve SfA threads from 2020 and the points haven't changed. The Bronco will do 80-90% of what a...
Not sure what you mean. If you melt them? At least in the Xterra, they would melt over an onto the bolt making it next to impossible to get the bolt out. I've had to cut several bolts to get the control arm out over the years.
To my earlier point, you probably want that control arm out of the...
Yeah, vice grips aren't going to cut it.
What I would do is:
1. Lift that corner up to get full droop and see if it's even going to be an issue.
2. If it is going to be an issue, pull the control arm out first. You don't want to cause more costly damage trying to fix the issue.
You may be...
Happened on my Xterra a lot. The mount is relatively thin metal there and it's out in front for every rock to hit.
You can bend it back and usually get it in relatively decent shape again. Depending how many times you end up hitting it over the course of owning the vehicle, you may get to the...
Thanks as always @Zach@Granger
I'm holding onto my Bronco reservation mostly as a security blanket. As soon as I have a solid build date for my Wrangler, I'll let Hunter know he can cancel the Bronco.
Jackie was fantastic working through my Wrangler order. FWIW, I'm into month 3 since ordering and no build date. But I do have a bunch of microchip stuff (tow, SOT, front camera) on my build so ... 🤷♂️
At least I have a VIN and a hope that it'll get built this year, unlike my Bronco order.
The Raptor accomplishes this by increasing track width by more than 8". I'm sure there will be aftermarket Raptor-fication lifts eventually but in the near term, you'll be looking at Raptor take off parts to accomplish what you're looking for.
You're going to need the Raptor fenders too, or...
You can have mine. It would probably fit into a small USPS flat rate box. Want the hammock and calendar too? All three would fit into a large flat rate box with no issue.
I'm slated to get my Bronco the Tuesday after who the fuck knows, so don't design special on my account. But if I had it, I would be looking to mount a GMRS radio there, probably the Midland MXT275.
