I checked the caps(bass blockers) on the factory speakers. 400hz. I don't blame Ford there, those speakers don't have any room for movement on them. I do Blame Ford for giving us shit speakers in the fist place.
Not to divert sales away from a member here, but if you can't find the speaker adapters you like and you don't want to wire them yourselves, buy your speakers from Crutchfield. They send them free with purchase.
The reflash is only for the rear speakers. They are head unit limited on bass. If you have a 21 you can reflash. 22 is not working yet. I took line level inputs from the front kick speakers for the subs. They are full range now.
I added 2-12's in the boot. I took line level inputs into the setup from the front kick panel speakers. I have plenty of bass even sub 80hz. The head unit is fine.

Thanks greatlakes. Back in the day, I used to have two of these. One for the highs and one for the bass. I've since sold one. Still had this one and it basically fit what I needed. I do want to recover it in black carpet and maybe even put a Bronco logo on it.

I put those up front. The Alpine S-40's. Very nice really. I may try some bass blockers on them. They handle really well until I get over 25 on the volume.
If I get bored I may and try to find a nice 6.5 mid-bass driver for the kicks. Something with no tweeter. I got what I want from the...
