Most 4 door owners secretly admire our 2 doors. Many have even told me this. "If only I could make it work in my situation" is quite common.

Actually, that was my point. OP asked if the 2.7 has been improved and here is one area where it was. Something worth checking on before buying an older one though. I've been plenty happy with my 2.7 and had zero issues.

I considered getting a dash cam a few times. Then I remind myself of the 47 years of driving where it NEVER would have come in handy. Not even once. The expense is of little concern to me but the hassle of setting up and dealing with one is. Simplify.
