  1. Don’t change your 10 speed auto transmission fluid

Some say the fluids should be changed "to remove factory debris". Never mind that these transmisions and valve bodies are assembled in clean rooms specifically designed for the task at hand... The dirty service department or home garage mechanic will clean it out and somehow not muck it up...
  2. Gasoline octane & MPG

Yes, higher octane and E-free gas will increase mileage. Some will do the math and say the increased cost doesn't justify the increase in mileage. That's one way to evaluate it. Another is that by burning less fuel less combustion byproducts and carbon is being produced to build up in the motor...
  3. Ultimate Raptor Challenge: F-150 R vs Ranger vs Bronco Raptor

If any came in a 2 door I might be interested.
  4. What Will the 6G be Worth in 50 years?

Limited edition high performance models is where the big money is with classics. My neighbor bought a '65 Shelby Mustang in the late '70's for $12,000. Sold it a few years ago for $325,000. When hearing that my mouth dropped open in shock. He just shrugged and said "That's what they're going...
  5. Day Time Running lights are not as safe as they could be.

Does Ford allow you to do this in a Bronco? Try it in a F-150 and the truck will automatically shift itself to park!
  6. What does the black appearance package look like?

The BAP thing is so overdone and boring that they probably figure everyone knows what it looks like. Sorry!
  7. 2025 Broncos... 2-door going extinct?

We could probably save a lot of grief if we just went back to the good old days when Bronco’s, Jeeps, pickups, and sports cars only came with 2 doors, everyone was happy, and there was no griping about it on the internet!
  8. 2025 Broncos... 2-door going extinct?

Most 4 door owners secretly admire our 2 doors. Many have even told me this. "If only I could make it work in my situation" is quite common.
  9. My 2-Door Bronco Pickup daily driver conversion

Looks very nice, and certainly different! Does the bed slide out? This way it could be extended when needed. A support could be designed with an extended hitch mount.
  10. 2025 Broncos... 2-door going extinct?

"Maunfactures build what sells" Of course there is truth in this. But when manufacture production decisions render 2 doors & manual trans vehicles scarce or unavailable, some of "what sells" is actually forced on buyers by manufactures. Dad goes to the local dealer for a new _______ (fill in...
  11. 2025 Broncos... 2-door going extinct?

The dropping of 2 doors across all makes and many models ensures that the remaining 2 doors will be even more unique. GOOD! Let the masses have their 4 doors, they'll never get me to buy one!
  12. We Drove Every Ford Bronco Generation - Donut Media

I have driven them all. I met my wife in a '77-78(?) Freewheeling Bronco in 1979. The truck is long gone but the wife is still here!
  13. Did the 2.7 engine improve?

Actually, that was my point. OP asked if the 2.7 has been improved and here is one area where it was. Something worth checking on before buying an older one though. I've been plenty happy with my 2.7 and had zero issues.
  14. Ford to reduce Bronco production [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

"Ford needs to blah, blah, blah" Ford has somehow managed to remain one of the largest automobile manufactures for over 120 years through all kinds of good and bad times. I trust they know what they're doing and will continue on just fine.
  15. Ford to reduce Bronco production [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

In 2023 I wanted a 2 door Heritage Bronco + manual trans with a passion. Not to drive off road… it might get scuffed and dirty, and I surely wouldn’t want that. Could’ve bought one in every color without breaking the bank but I couldn’t find one. Even the few available in other states were gone...
  16. Did the 2.7 engine improve?

There is a narrow range of late '2021-early '22 2.7's that had a recall for bad intake valves that could fail. The VIN will determine if a particular vehicle is affected. Plenty of good info regarding this from the F150 Gen14 forum...
  17. Exhaust sound

If you like the sound and can't tell if it's real or enhanced Ford did a good job. Might as well leave it.
  18. Danger! Insurance Fraud! Importance of a dash cam

I told in my initial post in this thread. 47 years of never having an incident where cam footage would have been helpful for anything. This seems about as much "exetremely unlikely" proof that one could have. I'm glad others like and use them. It's also nice to see the latest cams and...
  19. Danger! Insurance Fraud! Importance of a dash cam

Understood. I still prefer to not have any camera concerns or the extra clutter of having one in my vehicle... especially since it has proven extremely unlikely to ever come in handy. I do enjoy watching DC videos on Youtube and consider it educational for avoiding crashes. I've also noticed...
  20. Danger! Insurance Fraud! Importance of a dash cam

I considered getting a dash cam a few times. Then I remind myself of the 47 years of driving where it NEVER would have come in handy. Not even once. The expense is of little concern to me but the hassle of setting up and dealing with one is. Simplify.
