I ordered a base, MT, 2.3. I'm also ordering through my Ford dealer the 17" steel wheels used on BD (they're Ranger wheels) and BFG KO2s in 255/75/R17 (32.1" OD) which is the same size tire used on the BB. The tires are C load range, and only weigh 2 lbs more than the General ATXs the come on...
Thank you very much for these, and all the photos you’ve posted! The photos have been, and continue to be, an important part of the Bronco build decision process. Greatly appreciated!😺
This is what I'm proposing to do on the 2 dr base (mt). Probably going with General APT, which is not a very aggressive AT tire; more of a compromise street/AT tire. That works for me as we're mostly driving on the road with limited dirt/gravel off-road. Getting the Bronco for Northeast OH...
Thanks for making me feel young! I'll be turning 70 before the Bronco arrives! We're going 2 Door. Kids are gone - moved across the country. Just the two of us. We figured we'd make the Bronco as close to the CJ5s we had - base, 32" tires on the 16" steel rims, manual. My wife and I both...
I'm building similar to your build. One thing everyone should consider regarding swapping tires on the base (or any model) is the weight of the upgraded tire. I'm looking at BFG K02s in 2 sizes, LT235/85 R16 and LT265/75 R16. The 235s weigh 48 Lbs; the 265s weigh 53 Lbs. The stock tires...
I was debating between a 2 dr. base -sasquatch, 2.7, auto and a 2 dr. base 2.3, manual and changing the tires to BFG K02s (265/75R/16) with a 31.7" OD that will fit on the stock silver painted steel wheels. The base-sasquatch was a good deal at around $38M. Still decent at a bit over $40M, but...
It's nice to see the people that are producing the vehicles! I live about 30 minutes from Cleveland Engine Plant (home of the 2.3L). Ford provides a lot of employment in northern OH and obviously a lot in MI. I realize parts and components are sourced worldwide, but I feel it's important to...
