  1. I defected from jeep... don't see any reason to go back yet!

10,000 miles on my Bronco BD 4dr 2.7L. I've switched to Normal mode permanently from Eco due to better gas mileage. I haven't switched to Sport mode because I don't want to have 4WD on all the time. I will also switch over to manual going up a hill so I can downshift to 8M with less than 4psi...
  2. Bronco Raptor Fuel Octane

Costco Regular Unleaded. 2.7L runs smooth and plenty of power for when I need it. If not Costco, then 76 or Chevron
  3. So what is "it" about the Bronco (for you)?

Every time I see a Defender, I shake my head. That low profile tire hanging on the back is just silly. Like, they don't need a full sized spare since it'll never break down more than a few miles from a service station.
  4. Bronco Tie Rod Heim Kit by Fabtech

Lots of companies cashing in on the initial excitement of the Bronco model. Everything overpriced due to demand by early model adoptees.
  5. Sport Mode on freeway

I’ve used Sport Mode a few times already, for aggressive driving, and haven’t had any issues. As a few people said, it’s designed for asphalt driving, so Sport away! That burnt oil smell was likely due to new engine burning some residual manufacturing material in the engine and I haven’t...
  6. Bronco + Your Daily Driver

Got myself a 2022 Subaru BRZ. I told myself I’d try to drive it like a Civic, but can’t help myself flooring the pedal in 2nd gear.
  7. How fast can the Bronco go?

You probably just got the Bronco. I felt the same way at first, like it was underpowered in Normal or Eco modes. But the engine seems to take time to break in, and by around 2000 miles or so it feels natural in Normal mode. Sport just keeps the revs up so the power is much closer, but doesn’t...
  8. How fast can the Bronco go?

I drove one of the early models of that car, back in the mid 2000s. That thing is more like a car than an SUV.
  9. How fast can the Bronco go?

Haha! I wasn’t interested in how slow it could go!
  10. How fast can the Bronco go?

This is exactly the sort of answer I was looking for. I think my tires are the biggest limiting factor, followed by wind resistance. And then the gearing puts me at a disadvantage too. Nice to have a comparison with the 4Runner too.
  11. How fast can the Bronco go?

    sounds Like that’s the limiter.
  12. How fast can the Bronco go?

My thoughts exactly. Agree about 80 in a Wrangler. Scary as shit to be passing a semi in the rain. But the point of my post was what I’d have to do to get the Bronco above 100. Speed limiter for sure. Low profile tires and big wheels. Suspension mods, etc.
  13. How fast can the Bronco go?

I get a feeling the different models have different behavior at high speed. I would not take mine that fast with current configuration.
  14. How fast can the Bronco go?

    Poor man’s G class?
  15. How fast can the Bronco go?

I don’t think my Black Diamond can do it. It has the power, but not the stability. I see some high end SUVs out here in Southern California that speed down the highway at 90+. But those things aren’t spec’d out to go serious off-roading. The Mercedes G class is the first to come to mind. Then...
  16. How fast can the Bronco go?

Removing the limiter is a must, since that just artificially stops it from going faster. 100 is pretty fast. I think I may have hit 85-90 momentarily on a pass, but it gets pretty hairy at that speed. Maybe my tires are the limiting factor.
  17. How fast can the Bronco go?

So I noticed something on my drive home from work today. While looking at the mostly unused analog speedometer, I saw that it goes all the way to 120mph. by running the tach at 2000rpm, my Black Diamond 4dr 2.7L was doing about 66mph. That means it’ll go about 100mph at a little over 3000rpm, or...
  18. What's your unpopular Bronco opinion?

I noticed there are lots of dirt parking lots in Texas. 37" ATs can help in those situations.
  19. MPG - what is yours?

Downhill drive from the gas station to where you're at?
