Icon CDEV - Billet Upper Control Arms - Welded lower control arm tabs with cam plates: lower cams locked in at zero degrees (to avoid CV axle overextension).
Currently have 2.5" extension travel from ride height (in front). Will see how they settle. I'd like to have them set about 3"...
You may need wheel spacer (stock wheels) or 17x8.5 with zero offset to help with inner (frame clearance). It may rub the top of the fender at full compression depending - think hitting a large bump or jumping. I have plenty of clearance otherwise.
I figured these tires would be incredibly...
Nope. Just wheels and tires. It did rub at the top of the fender most likely due to cutting the sasquatch bumpstop in half for increased compression travel. We since have installed Icon coilover which resolved the fender rub (installed their bumpstop spacer to limit travel)>
Narrow is the...
Narrow 37s fit much easier. Nitto Recon Grappler 37x11.5R17. Running Method 17x.8.5 - 0 offset. Only rubbed at top of fender (due to chopped shock bumpstop).
Tire tread measures the exact same as the factory Sasquatch tread width.
Nitto Recon Grappler 37x11.5R17 - The tread width measures exactly the same as the factory Sasquatch Goodyear tires. Less weight. Less rolling resistance. Easy to fit without needing a bunch of modifications due to the narrower width. I like MPG and range. 19-20mpg in town city driving...
Is the extra portal gearing backlash noticeable? (Gear play between drive and coast)
We had dual tcases on multiple Toyotas and the rock crawling could get a bit jerky going over certain rocks as the gears bounced from drive to coast.
Our Bronco is a manual which will make any gear play more...
We have the RC hidden winch. It lasted for 3 trails. Bent to heck. Love the design concept of RC (minus the lack of provision for clutch access) however the execution is poor (weak complicated mounting). Installing the LOBO mount today.
I like the low CG position. We don't use winches...
You don't know what you're talking about...
I had a conversation with Quinn (several months ago) and suggested the concept Bmadda described. Quinn stated that he has thought about something similar. There is already 1 hose running from the portal... Add a 2nd hose and reservoir. It would...
I thought Quinn had resolved programming the proper gear ratio?? Any idea if there is a solution?
Our original plan was to go Portals. But for the price it needs to be seamless. The maintenance interval is also a major deterrent - and this could fairly easily be remedied by the...
@APG - Any interest designing rear 4 link suspension (high clearance) for rock crawling? I want nothing hanging below the axle tubes (coilover mount / control arm). Clearance is key for big rocks. Ideally get 4-5" suspension lift with proper geometry with increased axle clearance.
I've...
@Bmadda - Do the portals have 93.1mm hub? Curious if the factory hub centric wheels will properly center.
Do you think the OEM Big Bend factory wheels will fit?
They are 7.5” wide and +55mm. These would give a total width of 82.66” (outside of sidewall). We are running the Nitto 37x11.5R17...
Our RC mount has been on 2 rocky trails and is well bent and tweaked. I'm concerned the winch may get damaged if the mounting plate bends more... Basically it's junk for any sort of rocky terrain or handling impacts. Great design concept but poor execution. Ordered the Lobo mount but still...
Did you clock the winch clutch lever? I'm having trouble seeing how to access the lever... We have the RC mount. We reinforced it and cut and access hole in the front to reach the clutch. It's getting beat.
How has the Lobo mount holding up to rocks?? I'm a bit concerned that it's 3/16"...
Any update on the steering rack? Did Ford complete the recall? New units available?
Do these racks have same end bushing issues of the 2.0 Rack? Any known failure or weak spot?
I've read through most of the posts over the past year but may have missed some of it.
