Unfortunately, after looking more closely at the CAD data for the factory side step, it doesn't look to me like simply cutting the side step shorter will be an option. It would be much more complicated than that. There are just too many complex holes/cutouts on the step that are used to attach...
Different person, but I think these are the photos you're referring to?
I'm not sure what's going on with that one washer. Hopefully just on the prototype.
Here's a flyer we're working on, with Ford part numbers. The plates are removable, however as I mentioned in my last post, a plain black option without any plate will be available through other Truck Hardware Gatorback resellers (ie. SharpTruck.com in the USA).
These will be very similar to the ones you had on your Silverado (still Gatorback product family), but with an offset nylon upper portion, and different attachment.
We'll be testing this out at some point. Looks like a good option.
I'm not sure when I'll be able to post more photos. I found...
@Fly by Nite I like your product idea. It would be nice if our upper portion simply extended further to cover that gap. The channel is part of the upper portion. I'll check if there's any photos without the lower rubber installed.
These will be available in the not too distant future. I'll post an update as things get closer. We just completed another test fit and install video on a Bronco Badlands here in Alberta!
I'm the same way. We usually offer one without any logos. It's cheaper too.
Thanks for the feedback. We'll probably determine the final length once we see it in person. Too low and it could get ripped off backing into a parking curb. I could suggest they make both lengths available, as someone...
Hi,
I don't normally work on product design (I'm primarily involved in IT), but because of my personal interest in the Bronco, and because I have some experience using CAD, I got involved with the design of some mud flaps and mounting brackets for the Bronco here at my work.
The mud flap...
Good point. You can also see this looking at the closeups in the first post as well. It's already been mentioned, but it does seem the texture and gloss level of the top are just messing with us. I'm not going to worry about it anymore. Ford probably made the top highly textured and glossy so...
I'm hoping the grey looking top is a result of the texture. I've noticed this working with powder coated products with differing textures (matte black, black fine texture, gloss black, etc). If you have two black parts, and the texture is different between them, one may look more black than the...
