I took off the skids and took some pictures and measurements.
This is a side view of the frame member that holds the back of the front skid. You can see the height difference from the bracket that only lives on one side:
The bracket looks to be 1 1/2 inches above the frame member:
Here is...
Lights were not hard, just crimping connectors together once I figured out the connectors, and reordered the correct ones. (Don't look at the pictures, but read the description when you order from DigiKey). If I had to do it again, I might have bought the modular bumper wiring harness instead...
The picture of the Raptor engine skid was really hard to find.
For the short term, I am going to put a 1 1/2 inch piece of square tubing between the Raptor front skid and the plastic engine skid with a longer bolt.. Once I buy the Raptor engine skid, I will fabricate a piece to replace the...
@flip was looking at the fame and noticed an extra flange on the Raptor. That made me recall something I had seen in a video:
The blue flange is only on the Raptor, that is why their engine skid is the same height on both sides:
The standard metal engine skid has one side higher than the other:
This is a good discussion on the lights. I need to update the discussion after my install:

Bumper fits fine. No problems there even with the plastic extensions above and below the bumper ends.
The Raptor front skid is a little bit of a challenge as the Raptor has two brackets on the frame, one for each side, for the rear of the skid, while non-Raptors have only one. I will likely...
Wildtrak 4 door:
I have been playing with different grades of gas to see how it affects my gas mileage.
I just drove 150 miles from Houston to Austin, so half flat, half hills.
I filled up in Houston with 92 octane ethanol free gas (Bucees), because I had never seen ethanol free in...
Has anybody installed the big silver aluminum Raptor skid plate on a non-Raptor. I have a question about bolt lengths.
Back story:
I was searching for a modular bumper and a Raptor bumper and skid popped up. Price was awesome.
I am moving from plastic bumper and skids on my Wildtrak, so I...
I am also replacing the plastic bumper at the same time, so I am still getting to do some wiring harness fabrication fun. ha!
With the plastic bumper it appears that the connector on the harness is an H11 type, so I have to create a pig tail that converts the 4 pin MX150 to two H11 connectors...
Great writeup. I literally ordered parts to do the same job last week. The light that I bought have the adapter that combines the two lights into one connector. The connector is just a 4 pin MX150 rather than 2, 2 pin MX150s. I will report back once I get my parts and do the install.
Bought early last month. Financed 100% with Ford Motor Credit to just leave the small town dealership quickly. With top tier credit, 7.95%. Refinanced 2 weeks later, after the registration was issued, with my credit union, 4.29%. I put half down, but they would have given me the same rate...
I have the Texas plates and registration sitting on my desk for my 4 door and it says:
VEHICLE CLASSIFICATION: PASS-TRK
BODY STYLE: UT
I should put them on the vehicle, but then it won't be new anymore... ha!
Today I have received my 4th update in the last 3 weeks: 3.5.2, 3.5.3, 3.5.4, and today 22-PU101-MIL-LT. Still no 4.x version.
I wonder if there are more than one revision of hardware that would have different major version numbers, or maybe I will continue to get these upgrades until I...
