The part about the rear attachment hardware is very true. they are plastic and mine bent/broke within the first day. I did call gearshade and they immediately sent out metal replacements and I've had no issues since. They might have even wised up and made the metal clips standard, but I'm not sure.
Here's my take. I have the gearshade, and I got it before the Jtops were available.
Looks - I def like the overall look of the Jtop better
Coverage - Yes the Gearshade doesn't go right to the edges like Jtop does, but thats not a big deal for me and I like that Gearshade doesn't go so far down...
They still don't have video/pics of a real hardtop on a Bronco to share yet. You would think that a prototype top on an actual bronco would need to come well in advance of ramping up production. Last I heard they would have pics out in July....but that definitely didn't happen. I would hope its...
You might need to get your A/C checked. I have a softtop in Arizona and consistently have days +110 degrees and no issues at all. My daughter always sits in the backseat and the other day was hunched over because she said the AC blowing on her was too cold. That being said, I always auto-start...
I'm in Chandler and went thru San Tan Ford... I would say took about 10 days to get to the railyard here and it sat for about another 5 days before a truck came to deliver it to the dealership. I tracked it multiple times per day as it traveled. It stopped for 1-2 days is random places, but my...
I went thru San Tan as well and they were great. I just asked them to confirm back in writing (email) that they would not add or charge me for ...I think they call theirs the Desert Protection Plan....basically tint, nitro in tires and some other stuff that I really didn't need or want to pay...
I used San Tan and the team was great. I specifically asked for no Desert Package which is their standard and they said no problem. Also they held MSRP and were very responsive anytime I had questions...and lets face it....Once it starts getting close, we all have questions!! I would highly...
One other note, the first few times...and especially the first time....the side windows were super difficult to get back in place. I began to panic that I would have to take them back to the dealer for help....but after say 2 times, they seemed to stretch/loosen up a bit and it in now pretty...
Gonna have to disagree a bit on that one...the first post is an install post from OEM soft top to Bestop, and the second post (which started us all down this rabbit hole) was requesting pros and cons of the OEM soft top vs Bestop.
Now that being said, you are spot on with the Bestop being...
Just my two cents:
Top fully up - Bestop is tighter and cleaner looking. Advantage Bestop
Top as far back as either goes - We bought Broncos for the full open air experience, not partial. Also cant go back into the garage without closing the Bestop. Advantage OEM
Safari - Honestly hate the look...
@Bronco23 I just placed my order on the gearshade website last night and it didn't give me a shipping timeframe....about how long did it take for yours to arrive after you ordered?
Hello all - Looking to get some type of sunshade for when the top is down (Though it might be getting too hot)...I've see Ford has both a mesh and a canvas version...and other offerings I've seen are from GrearShade and Besttop. I have a 4dr soft top. Anybody have experience with any of these...
