Finally topped out around 205ish and oil around 210. What threw me off was the guage. As it climbed, the needle would slide closer to the red. But after a while, it appeared the goal post moved and the gauge got “bigger” and the needle moved closer to the middle again until the temp rose more.
Yeah the stubby might be the problem. Doesn’t help these lights are slightly less reputable. Hadn’t slapped the OEM one back in yet. I’ll give a shot later this week as it’s not my daily.
Added some ditch lights with a sweet amber DRL. Got the harness from @SPVPARTS to make the DRLs work with my park lights.
Worth noting, my radio goes static when I turn my ditch lights on. Seen a bunch of posts on it and I’ll investigate fixing that next weekend.
I did the reverse rear bulb replacement thing in my Explorer and it worked wonders. But there was no aftermarket tail lights for that, and their ST tail lights already looked good. I just wanted something way brighter.
Got them in. I like them, but they’re not as snug as the OEM. I have a slight gap in the top sections closest to the sides of the vehicle, where the OEMs fit with minimal spacing. This might be an area that leads to water intrusion later with all of those modules underneath. They are definitely...
Just picked up the Oracle flush mounts to replace the halogens for under $390 from Bezos’ company. I’ll put them in this weekend after the rain dries up.
So everything works correctly? How can you tell they are OEM when the knockoffs look like the real thing?
I need to find some OEMs to swap to and get back on Forscan. I haven’t played with that program in 2 years on my former Explorer. Anybody got some for sale?
