Nice. Approx how many miles to fill the cans ?
  2. Goosetuned 2.7L Bronco Review

Sounds fun, thanks for supporting El Bronco ! I've got a feelin the OEMs hold back performance tunes because the loudest voices on the internet are against high-octane gas. It's sort of in the category of careful what you wish for!

Increasing IFS wheel travel is the holy grail

  5. Why I'm going to use 0w-40 next oil change

Kinda surprising that HPL's extra zinc and moly didn't seem to limit wear. In LSW's results, it seems like wear is inversely proportional to calcium. That's sort of to be expected (detergents bind with zinc), but the HPL has so much more zinc and moly.
  6. Why I'm going to use 0w-40 next oil change

I wonder if the results would be even better with a lower Noack volatility? For a warm climate, 10W-30 may do better.
  7. Why I'm going to use 0w-40 next oil change

It looks like your test is consistent with validates the Motor Oil geek's, where the 5W-30 sheared out of grade in normal use.
  8. BellTech 4-7.5 Inch Lift - Replacement Coilovers

You're going to have to pony up the $$ for a long-travel suspension kit (see what I did there). There are a few kits. While it's a great concept, I personally don't want to spend that much.
  9. Raised White Lettering

I like RWL as well, preferring the older concept of a sporty look. It seems the tire manufacturers have concluded these are going out of style, so availability is limited, and the price differential on some sizes is getting uncomfortable.
  10. What to do with hood hail damage?

Economize, and maintain a positive attitude about those character lines. The more you spend on it, as luck would have it the more stuff will happen. No repair, no fiberglass, and don't make any insurance claim ever. A guy on an I-35 overpass near Austin shot my Bronco with a pellet gun...
  11. Why I'm going to use 0w-40 next oil change

Agreed, testing may improve our options. The motor oil geek's vid is interesting, but for purposes of explanation his testing may depart from a real-world choice :
  12. Why I'm going to use 0w-40 next oil change

0W-xx shears out of grade faster. Increased use of friction modifiers increases Noack volatility. You'll get the lowest volatility score in a 10W-30. In southern NM, modern turbo engine, 10W-30.
  13. Another 37 inch tire and required lift post 😁

Independent front suspension (IFS) is harder to modify than a jeep's solid axles. With IFS, you're pushing it to increase downtravel by an inch. Bilstein provides that extra inch of front downtravel. That was easy. Uptravel should not be a lot more than downtravel, so you're not adding...

  16. Daily driver suspension upgrade

Variable-rate springs improve handling and ride quality. However, many only offer variable-rate springs for the rear. The one company that offers variable-rates for both front and rear are very expensive (they know they have something special). Firmness is incredibly over-rated. Softer...
  17. Is the auto start stop battery always connected ?

Thanks guys! Yes, I was just assuming there would be a separate auto start stop battery, like Jeeps have. They hide it on jeeps, underneath other stuff, so I assumed that's why I was not seeing one in my Bronco's engine bay.
  18. Is the auto start stop battery always connected ?

Whenever I'm at home, not driving El Bronco, its main battery is plugged into a Schumaker charger that's seemed to perform well. For my other vehicles, their AGM batteries will read 12.8V or higher after a short drive for errands, because they're all plugged in when parked, like El Bronco...
