Vented light assemblies is standard practice, it's usually just a little pinhole near or at the lowest spot, its cheaper and more reliable to vent them then try and keep them sealed for 10+ years. Right out of the owners manual

at first glance the fenders look the same, but looking closer they are much bigger and wider, reference them relative to the grill and you see that they are about 2in wider and have a similar sized shoulder up around the grille into the trail guides
