I asked my dealer to add tube doors, and apparently those are constrained too. I know this is not on the same level as other items, bit if someone has them on their build they may want to take them off. I didn't add them.

The extra deposit is t a red flag as long as it is refundable. Dealers have to separate serious buyers from people that will abandon them. Dealers can get penalized for to many abandonments.

I agree. I am not sure what they are sending dealers, but for all we know it is a bunch of slap together builds. They looked in the parts closet and said, "what can we build that we will push out the door today?"

Yeah, but Ford does hold them to a certain percentage of completed deliveries to original order placer.

Mine was a fully refundable $1000, a few weeks prior they were doing $500. I believe they do that to discourage buyer's that aren't serious.

Stay positive. Working in automotive service for over 10 years I can promise you that if you you are kind to the dealer through the promise you'll get taken care of
