    @Alifu don't beat yourself up too bad. The whole wheel / tire / offset math / tribal knowledge can be a bit daunting at first. Luckily, you've got a great community of enthusiasts to help! :-D

    Explanation for the holes in the cover-plate / compartment.. Behind the spare tire are "air escape flaps", so when you close the door, there isn't additional air pressure in the cabin. Removing the holes here would mess with that.
