650 miles and mine are getting replaced

There’s apparently a new recall on the phasers and I’m getting 4 new ones

I’m having them look at that as well. Apparently a message went out to the service depts over rattle on the Broncos and F150s and recommended replacing all phasers.

As soon as it started leaking I drove straight there and got a loaner. Regardless I can’t pick it back up until Friday.

New seals for the front roof panels and they ordered parts to fix the side.

I’m bringing it in now they have a loaner for me. I’ll have them take a look at the phasers, but I don’t think it’s loud enough to warrant replacing at this point.

Did you change the oil in the first one? The 2.7 is filled with 7 qts from the factory, but the service capacity is only 6. I split the difference and put 6.5 in. Maybe the fill volume is causing it.

Maybe I’m going crazy, but I’m pretty sure this one sounds the same as mine?

Yeah there’s definitely some noise present on mine that’s not on yours.

I compared several videos of bad 2.7 and 3.5 phasers to the video I took, and the noise I’m hearing is clearly not as loud. There’s a noticeable rattle from 2-3 seconds after ignition, but it might just be the oil pressure building up to the valve train. I spoke to my service manager, and he...

I'm going to get a video later when I cold start it. It's not too loud right now, but it also seems too distinct not to be the start of it. I'll see what my service manager thinks. I want a new motor if I'm already getting it at 750 miles.

No I recycled it already. I’m not too concerned, the oil on my last 3.5 EcoBoost was also really dirty on an early change.

Just did my first oil change at 630 miles and the oil was already filthy

In my first 500 miles I’m somehow averaging 19 MPG. That is absurd for a 5000 pound truck on 35” tires that’s shaped like a brick.

FordTekMakuloco recommends 5k miles with off-the-shelf full synth, so that’s what I’ve been running in all my EcoBoost motors. I do think I’ll send my first few changes off to blackstone to see how it’s holding up.
