I got light scratches on the driver side rear fender still, but saved the fronts! I think I was doomed to get beauty marks no matter what, unless I bypassed it. The painted fenders are a consideration when squeezing, if I had regular black fenders I probably would have taken a different line.
I was also surprised that there was no change made in that spot, or the one on falls dam, though the latter isn’t nearly as bad unless it is filled with water and mud. I thought for sure they would have filled them in, last year I went two weeks apart, neither of them looked like they do now on...
I have skipped going through it the other 4 trips I have made, I knew it was going to be tight, probably leave a mark tight, risks noted and challenge accepted. I know who was the cause of the minor damage, and I won’t sleep any worse. Quick release fenders would be awesome, hopefully one day.
Was in Uwharrie this past weekend and wasn’t quite thin enough to fit in a spot on Dutch John, at least it didn’t rip the fender off. Was able to push it back into place, time will tell if it (mostly) buffs out. Camera woman was very squeamish at the action, so pardon the camera work.

I am heading back again this weekend, I try to get out there several times a year. If there is a group that wants to set up a meetup and run the trails, I am down.
When you set up your “R” mode, turn it off and every time you get in and double tap the “R” button it will turn off. Not the best solution, but if your going to use the “R” mode, may as well use it to the fullest.
Thanks guys, I am wanting to get more familiar with the Bronco and my daughter will definitely enjoy learning it. I have been out several times with it already, but I am still learning capabilities and limitations, goal is to NOT learn it the hard way!
Awesome, if you don’t mind, how much off-roading experience did you have before going? I came over from Jeeps and have a lot of hours behind the wheel off road. I am sure I will learn things from them, and my daughter definitely will, but I am hoping it is worth the trip.
