Thanks man. Getting closer, received all my Ford parts on Friday. Need to have the main body of the bumper painted and receive the Molex from AliExpress and I will be neck deep.in it.
You last point is one of the main reasons that I say to change early and often. The D44 Advanteks generate more metal for a longer period of time than any other axle I have ever owned or worked on.
It's the same for the Trail Hogs, they are Duratrac tread knock-offs. As LRE, they cannot help but be durable and they were quite attractive when they were really cheap, but their prices are starting to rise.
I put about 20K on mine before I jumped up to 37's. I had to replace one that would...
OEM Bronco knock-off (from your post on the JL Wrangler site)? LOL.
I like Kanati's..had a set of 315/70/17 Trail Hogs that were great, but heavy.
LRC is nice on these, but I'm not sure they are any better/cheaper than the OEMs.
The Jeep 3.6L is the same as it has a two-stage oil pump; 30ish at idle and then up to 75 above 3K RPM. I would opine the Ford 2.3 and 2.7L have similar. This is a "CAFE" design to maximize MPG by reducing drag on the engine until such pressures are needed.
I have a similar project on deck (rear axle temperature and oil pressure) using ISS Pro gauges, but they are electrical. No way would I install a mechanical oil pressure gauge inside the cabin.
I would also ditch the plastic tubing given the heat generated under the hood, the proximity to the...
Which means that it will work even better in all climates versus 5W-30--all oil is too thick at start-up.
In addition, the number to the right of the "W" (which stands for Winter and not Weight) is the "normal" temperature rating and since they are both 30, it can be used year-round in cold or...
To answer your question about WD-40, it is non-conductive so no danger in electrical connector. In fact, it will displace water so it can prevent corrosion.
I pulled my rear bumper to install a hitch and the passenger rear sensor connector would not seat. A squirt of WD-40 and all was well.
Pretty sure that is where I am headed. It repeated the no shift thing again and it is now whining. It never did that before so something is definitely wrong. I wanted to take a road trip but now I don't trust the forking thing...
First, I have to convince the dealer that something is "wrong enough" to require a replacement. I wish the #(%& thing would just hang in gear and stay there.
Thanks for the update!
How long did it take?
Mine has repeated the no upshift issue, but I also noticed it have developed a whine that increases with RPM. Something is definitely off.
