You’re going to get a lot of mental gymnastics about dealer allocations and whatnot, but the truth is that dealers are shady AF and they run this shit. It’s why I sold half my position in Ford, because they’re not ready for the 21st century yet.

This because everyone here so far is stuck on showing how much they know about the distinction between beadlock and beauty rings, when OP was only asking about the color/aesthetics. Personally, I’m going with gun metal gray Plasti-Dip, if anything. It’s easy and easily undone.

Thanks, I totally understand and appreciate your response. My main concern is showing up at delivery to find that my special order has 25 miles on it and was delivered two days earlier. I will be flipping tables at my dealer if that happens.

Seems like a lot of gripes here are from folks that reserved after 7/13. No one in that camp should be complaining about the roofs coming off the line right now. They should be happy to get one before a lot of other 7/13’s, if that’s the case. If they don’t get one of those bad roofs, then...

Are they telling the truth when the dealer says they don’t have access to rail car information on a vehicle in transit over two weeks already? ETA: I get it that Ford doesn’t want the rail phone lines inundated with costumers or customers physically tracking down their vehicle on the rail line...

Both my dealer and Ford Marketing have told me repeatedly that they don’t have that information. I know it’s BS. Just saying.
