The answer is there is no way for you to know. Ford dropped a handful of orders on us that were for VIP's if you want to call them that. One of them is a very well known actor who we all know. The other two I didn't know, but know one of them is a FAD(Ford parts distributor). I'm sure all three...
When that happens(not that I think it will) we'd all be paying more for vehicles than we currently are by letting the market take care of it on its own.
Remember when everyone used to love their banks? You could walk in, speak to someone, get personal service, get a loan, etc....fast forward...
I haven't seen a lot of fixed ops guys comment on parts crisis at the dealer level right now, but I'll share the bad there to put some things in perspective on how hard it is to get anything automotive currently. We normally have less than 100 part numbers on the backorder log each day. If it...
This is how we knew Ford monitored what was happening here. Ford threw allocation into the mix(although I fully believe it was always going to be there) and then once the October deal was created to offset the allocation formula, Ford reacted again and instituted the 9/18 cutoff. That wasn't...
Brand awareness is huge to Ford. It's not always just about what they're getting paid per unit. Margins and transaction price and a whole host of things are important to the motor companies.
I know everyone wants to say it was the dealers that got things changed, but I promise it wasn't. I'm...
Ford has monitored this forum for a long time. They saw what was going on here with some of the deals getting passed out for their hottest vehicle they've built in a long time. They were not happy about it and took action. That is a fact.
I think I learned about supply & demand on the first day of business school. The demand for Bronco is ridiculously high. I've had a dozen or more people that aren't getting a Bronco for the '21 MY tell me they're willing to pay $10k or more over MSRP if anyone backs out of their order and they...
That's the part that's hardest to swallow for me. All the work doing the 2021 orders that don't make the cut for allocation, plus all the ones that want to wait for 2022 have to be redone. That's no small amount of work. Especially for dealers with a large number of orders. A real kick in the nads.
I hear ya. Ford told us to give them all the orders that wanted to wait to cleanup the WBDO queue, so I emailed them 74 to convert from 19 back to 99(all the orders I had that had top conflicts, both MOD and dual tops).
At some point, your dealer is going to have to go back in and do your...
Just curious, but did your dealer go back in and modify this order since its an unbuildable 2021 unit? Did you modify it to something buildable, or did they move it back to priority 99 and 2022MY WAIT?
That's good. I had over 70 that either had MOD top alone, or dual top chosen, whether MIC and soft or MOD and soft. Of those 70, I probably had 10 that wanted to wait, and 60 or so that made adjustments. You'd hate to not ask them and that be the reason they got skipped. I encouraged everyone to...
Keep in mind this likely scenario...just because a dealer is allocated 203 units for 2021 MY, doesn't mean they're getting 203 units if they don't have enough orders that are buildable. Same for all model lines, but especially for Bronco. This will be the case at nearly every dealer, especially...
@Funkdoobiest
I have that same email as well as an actual pdf deck I printed that I reference often. It clearly states MOD top and both Dual top options(MIC & MOD) are both pushed to 2022.
I confirmed with Ford that if I left orders in WBDO with either of those options, they would not get...
For real. Dealer told me to tell him to call him when if he had a problem with it. Figured if accessories follow suit like the Bronco has, we'll just sell em to all the dealers who didn't get in early. :)
Gotta plan waaaayyyyyy ahead on everything Bronco!
I put in my initial order yesterday with Fred Jones(FAD). Only ordered 80 sets of liners, 50 bimini tops, 50 swing gate tables, 75 hood deflectors, and so on and so on....it wasn't a small order. :)
Sorry I keep using 19. I'll clarify. If you have any orders sitting in the queue, with priority 10-19, with a dual top selected, or a MOD top selected, and it wasn't fixed, it has ZERO chance of getting built this model year. Sorry if I didn't type that out correctly before.
I talked to the head of Bronco ordering last week on the dealer council call, and I'll let you in on a little secret, and it's not a popular one. All those orders that are in there from 10-19 that have a top conflict are not going to get pulled.
Furthermore, and here's another kick in the...
