Engine makes a super weird metal fluttering sound upon acceleration. It’s always hard to capture on video. Dealers tell me there is no such sound.
please watch this video - am I insane? Is there a weird flutter sound? It’s more prevalent toward the end of the video
I am with you in that I don't know for sure, but it seems like a torque converter, a CV joint or something similar. I am a former ford Launch Engineer, certainly not a god tier engineer, but I know a thing or two. Too bad the dealerships don't care. ha.
I'd implore you to email Lynn...
Hello my dear friends
I am experiencing a very similar issue
Black diamond sas
noticed at about 8,000 miles
at highway speeds, typically 65mph+
a slight intermittent vibration can be felt in the steering wheel and floor boards.
It does NOT present 100% of the time, so each time a dealer...
Was lucky enough to have Ford send an FSE out to my local dealership to investigate my Bronco for himself... and he told me he could not replicate my vibration issue.
so now I have to figure out how to prove that the vibration even exists..
Managed to record a video of the engine while power braking. First in reverse then in drive.
Appears to be a decent amount of movement... does it appear that my mechanic made the right assessment? tried to find the motor mount but man is there a lot of crap in the way
highest rated local mechanic in my area (guardian car care). I’ve been getting Highway vibrations - lane assist is off, front drive shaft is replaced and I’ve balanced the wheels multiple times AND did an entire wheel and tire swap with my buddies badlands. My truck still vibrates, his does not...
/bitch and moan
my bronco has 11,000 miles on it. It has a broken motor mount. Extremely doubtful that I as the driver somehow broke the motor mount, therefore would be covered under warranty.
called six dealers in southeast Michigan, no one can get me in until mid February. So I am supposed...
Update
took it to the highest related local mechanic for an independent inspection. He says the only thing he can find is a blown motor mount - but that may be causing the vibrations.
could off roading having blown the mount?
drive shaft replaced and I am still getting the vibrations.
Please let me know if you are still having the same problem and if not how you resolved it.
Drive shaft replaced a matter of an hour or so ago.
Still experiencing highway vibrations as well as a flutter sound upon acceleration.
Was everyone drunk when they built mine???
My replacement got pushed to Dec 7th because of course - anyhow, ill
Update everyone when I get it back. I’m praying this fixed my vibrations.. but given my luck, it might not
