Question to those that have installed your OME suspension: what are you all doing with your trim packs? Keeping them, using them, throwing them out?
Looking for a solution to shim up the rear of my Bronco a bit as it now squats with my bike rack on the back, and these shim packs seem like they...
Magnaflow Overland system is a good option too, with adjustable noise profile to your liking. I have that on my Bronco and absolutely love the sound it produces, reminds a bit of my old Subie at lower RPMs and has a bit of a burble when you let of the throttle at low RPMS.
I moved it up to the front position, makes it easier to mount by taking off the front roof panels and better distributes the load for the tent.
I'm running a TrailRax TRMR rack now though.
The edge that's circled in red is where I found the squeaking on my rack to be coming from.
I just used stick on velcro (the soft part of it) and cut it into strips to fit the edge. As soon as I applied it and took it offroad for a test there was no more squeaking.
I had a squeaking coming from the front of my TRMR rack when I first got it, figured out it was the fairing rubbing slightly against the side rails.
I put some felt on the side rails where it contacts the fairing so it's not just metal to metal and the squeaking went away. Hope that helps!
Hey everyone, had a little incident last night with one of the pillars in my underground parkade... Clipped the passenger mirror on one of the pillars backing into my spot and exploded the plastic around the mirror.
The cover on the front side is fine (#8, it blew off but it snapped back on...
Have you considered the Magnaflow Overland system? I have that system on my Bronco 2.3L (w 7mt) and I have been thoroughly impressed with the sound it produces! The adjustability in tone and loudness is also a really cool feature.
I have it on the third quietest setting with the J pipe and cap...
With setting #2 front and rear does it still maintain some factory rake? I'm planning on going this route for a lift and suspension upgrade and can't decide between #1 and #2 position. I load up with mountain bikes and camping gear often and don't want the rear end to squat when loaded up, plus...
I use the crawler gear all the time off road, it's nice for just cruising slowly (and smoothly) up rougher roads or steeper pitches where you don't feel like mashing the throttle and bouncing around to get up it.
Also stop and go or slow traffic using crawler gear is a dream!
Hey anyone interested in an OEM roof rack? Upgraded to the TrailRax TRMR rack so my OEM one is just sitting around taking up space... Fits both 2dr and 4dr. $450 and in the Kamloops area.
Been rallying some backroads lately with it on and it's been holding up really well! This tent is pretty much bombproof, I have no worries at all off roading with it on top!
My roof rack didn't require grinding to install (well not the rack itself).
They were having some issues with inconsistent t-nuts from the supplier where they were bigger, one of the solutions to the t-nuts not fitting was just grinding them down a 1/4" which is what I did. They also offered...
Mine is shipping today! Looks like estimated delivery is next Thursday, cannot wait! :D
Edit: Anyone else north of the boarder have one of these coming?
