No, they stay on all the time. The softtop folds over it.
it should work with the mesh Bimini top. Just need to see the mounting points on the particular one you are interested in.
I got this. Easy to clip in place. I’m able to carry my heavy Outback and boards.
if i ever get a hard top this will work with that too. But honestly i don’t see myself ever wanting the hardtop over the soft top now that i have a way to carry my kayak and fishing poles.
looks like you are blocking your airbags. You dont want those lights shooting at you in an accident. looks like you screwed them too. I would check for damage to the airbag.
The bars are mounted in one location. Cant move them.

So i got the exposed racks with the kayak attachment. When I tried to get the yak up there i was not able to angle the yak on the mounts as it was too wide. Took them off and it was much easier. The yak doesn’t touch the front windshield but its only a couple inches from it.
