One would think JCR would design these bumpers to be modular so you can switch out the bull bars etc. but happy to be the Guinea pig :)
will report back in the near future
did you happen to take the fuse box out for any reason prior to the issue?
similar thing happened to me - car is in the shop now but I changed the fusebox out to install upfitter switches and car started wigging out a day after. turns out the terminals under the fusebox is quite fickle. they're...
Hello! I was actualyl able to fix it with the help of RustysBronco.
I underestimated how much you really have to get the 3 terminals under the fusebox to connect into the fusebox above. But once it was bolted in properly, everything worked like a charm.
@RustysBronco to the rescue!
So battery and fuse box are fine. The culprit was the terminal connection below the fuse box wasn't firmly inserted enough.
For others that are venturing into this - pull the 3 terminal connectors up and screw them in individually into the bottom of fuse box before...
i'm an idiot and dont have a voltmeter in hand but friend is bringing one over now.
just to rule out several thing - the overhead console and wiring harness is unlikely to cause a complete vehicle shut down, so i'm ruling that out and focusing on the fuse box and/or battery.
The old fuse box...
Hey folks, in a bit of a pickle here...
I went ahead and received all the correct components to install OEM upfitter switches.
Today, I set aside a couple hours and followed these steps -...
sorry one more question - since this is the only harness I have at the moment, is there any downside to using it as is with the red line going into the battery and using B to connect to two aux switches?
Ah, got it. This is where my confusion came in was in regards to the relay and such. I know they sell other harnesses for this purpose... I'm assuming the reason they sent this harness by default to me is to provide options for those who dont have AUX switches?
100% new, first time installing lighting... DD's video made it look super easy but the harness it came with (https://www.diodedynamics.com/heavy-duty-dual-output-4-pin-wiring-harness.html) looks more complicated than their video. Diagram from DD below:
1. C goes to each light pod
2. Switch A...
Hey @flip sorry one more question - noticing in these parts lists, I'm not seeing the d-ring tow hook assembly. Is that considered a different assembly outside of the bumper assembly?
Random question - for those who have already installed this bumper, how does it look without a winch? Love the look (and price) of this bumper but just curious how it would look with some lights in place of the winch there under the prerunner bar?
