  1. Airaid Snorkel Installed (after engine stall from water intake)

I tried to buy that cap from them, but they wouldn't sell it separately haha 😄 A friend knows someone with a 3D printer so we shall see but at the moment I am looking at either a piece of rubber zip-tied to the end of the inlet or maybe even a foam seal of some sort.
  2. Airaid Snorkel Installed (after engine stall from water intake)

It is a round pipe that seems pretty normal when looking at the one Mishimoto is developing. I don't see why the upgrade head wouldn't work. I tried to see if Mishimoto would sell me their cap to the stock inlet because they are developing a snorkel but nice dice haha. I will say, their...
  3. Airaid Snorkel Installed (after engine stall from water intake)

Just a follow up. I reached out to Airaid and their response was, "Thank you for your email. The snorkel setup is designed to add a new air inlet source that is away from the ground and where the stock air intake is. This is to help have an air inlet source away from splashes, mud, and most of...
  4. "The Dirt Horse" - Area 51 Bronco Badlands build

Actually, heading there on Thursday (4/27/23). The group is staying at Fontana in NC for tail of the dragon but those with 4x4s are going to Windrock. If you are having issues on that rock in a 2-door, my 4-door will definitely hit. Another reason for better skids. Looks like a lot of fun out...
  5. "The Dirt Horse" - Area 51 Bronco Badlands build

That ARB bumper is super stout. If you are bending that then everyone is having a bad day... I am heading to Windrock in TN at the end of April the week after supercel for an event with another car group of mine. Another reason I am doing some upgrades and contemplating tires. I have 23k on...
  6. "The Dirt Horse" - Area 51 Bronco Badlands build

I live in FL, so we really don't have anything to push the steering rack. The HOSS 3.0 steering rack would be nice, but it seems like a lot has to go into making it work. It would be really nice if Ford would sell it as an upgrade. The ARB is nice, but it is massive for me. My friend has it on...
  7. "The Dirt Horse" - Area 51 Bronco Badlands build

Pretty sure it is 7FT but I just need to stop being lazy and go measure. I am not pushing it like most people. I got it for more assurance. I know it will take a lot to break the actual steering rack compared to a tie-rod. I would like to add the broncbuster steering rack upgrade but at...
  8. "The Dirt Horse" - Area 51 Bronco Badlands build

I keep forgetting to update this haha. Latest mods have been: Air Design fender flares and 17" Icon Rebound Pros in Bronze at 0-offset Icon HD tie-rods which are nice and beefy compared to stock Lastly, a snorkel by Airaid. I am not too happy that the company is fine with leaving the...
  9. ICON XD Forged Tie Rods

It drove straight since I tried to match it, but I got an alignment to confirm, and they said it was off. It is good now thought.
  10. ICON XD Forged Tie Rods

I like them, seem very stout and beefy compared to stock. Install was very simple.
  11. Airaid Snorkel Installed (after engine stall from water intake)

I agree, and even if for a purely dust only application. The stock inlet being open still leaves it susceptible to dust and other elements defeating the purpose. Once I seal the airbox, it will be good though.
  12. Airaid Snorkel Installed (after engine stall from water intake)

It is the stock airbox but with a different lid (picture below). I was hoping I could use it, but it wouldn't work.
  13. Airaid Snorkel Installed (after engine stall from water intake)

I did and all was fine. The breather hoses are by the brake booster, so they are really high up. They say the everglades model has even higher breather hoses but man... If my breather hoses are underwater, then I am having a really bad day haha.
  14. Airaid Snorkel Installed (after engine stall from water intake)

There is a gasket between the snorkel and where it bolts to the stock box. I will keep everyone updated on sealing the stock box.
  15. Airaid Snorkel Installed (after engine stall from water intake)

You are correct and the kit provided by Airaid doesn't block the stock inlet which shocked me and the installer. It mentions nothing about it in the instructions either. I am calling Airaid shortly to see what they say but I am working with someone to 3D print a cover for the stock inlet.
  16. Airaid Snorkel Installed (after engine stall from water intake)

So far, I have just used it for Florida brush, but I can see the issue for bigger branches.
  17. Airaid Snorkel Installed (after engine stall from water intake)

It does defeat the purpose in my opinion. I am going to call airaid to see what they say but I am working with someone on creating a block to the stock inlet.
