Yes. Iām not a big fan of banging and scraping. Even with skid plates. Then again, this is about as hard as Iām willing to go. Itās not like Iām doing Cadillac Hill or Fordyce anytime soon, if ever.
Maybe 1/8" if that. Weight was minimal other than a small ice chest and a couple chairs. The winch plate/winch/fabfours add to the stock weight of course.
You don't realize how small my rig on SAS 35s looks compared to the Wildtrak on Methods (-12mm offset) and 37s. Big difference. Like...
Yep. And just east of the Rubicon. Itās a 4/10 difficulty. Couple sketchy spots but not too bad. Next month, we are hitting Signal Peak off of Eagle Lakes road, north of I-80.
Great time on Ellis Peak trail. Money shot with Tahoe in the background. The lower control arm skid plates came in handy. Seriously considering the same lift and 37s as the Wildtrak that was with us. He made it look easy while I was earning battle scars. š
Looking at the scrap you used to even it out, it appears to be 1.5" stacked. I may eliminate that and reduce the 2x8's to 2x6.5's to lower it. (my sub is under the front seat) ;)
The anchors. How are you attaching them to the floor?
Thanks again!
Correct on Baja mode. The shift points are crazy. I thought I broke something when it wouldnāt shift until around 5000rpm when testing it in the neighborhood. Found a long abandoned stretch and gunned it from a stop. WOW.
Those wheels and exhaust are indeed the major factors.
I just tested 20miles of flat highway in sport mode and averaged 20.6 mpg. That's no stopping; just cruising at 75mph. Otherwise, I'm getting, AT BEST, 17.5 mpg with my basesquatch (2.7 auto) in NORMAL mode during my normal commute of...
Define "pavement excellence".
Does it corner on a dime? Debatable. My 2-door doesn't do too bad.
Does it nosedive when braking? Sure.
Does it have some road noise? Yea, but a simple audio upgrade will fix that.. ;)
Is it smoother than a baby's ass on the freeway? Hell yes.
"Dubious...
After reading your post, I am not going to lift my BaseSquatch or go with 37's. I'll save the money and invest in skids plates. Me and my wallet thank you sir.
If you want a dual purpose vehicle that excels on pavement AND can go off-road the Bronco is the obvious choice. This vehicle was designed for the crowd that wants both.
I drive my BaseSquatch on and off road and it rides as smooth as my 2016 Cadillac CTS on pavement. Yeah the gas mileage...
Interesting that stocksurplus has a table for a 2-door application when they are officially for 4-door only (confirmed by another dealer, suspensionlifts.com and Bilstein customer support). The dealer said that they would "lift the 2-door too much" whatever the hell that means and directed me...
thank you for this. I have the RC 20" lightbar with DRL that will go into my RC high winch mount. I kinda knew how to wire it up and this post confirmed it. In my case, there's 3 wires (Red, black, white). The white will tie into my SPVparts DRL/parking adapter harness and red to AUX 6, black...
The recall only covers the removal, adhesion application, and install of the SAME windshield. My appointment is this Friday but since I now have 3 wicked cracks in my windshield, I had them order a new OEM windshield. Cost was $594 if anyone is wondering how much the OEM glass is. My first...
