I had the same thoughts when I started looking for mine back in the spring, I was not going to pay 100K for one no matter how nice it was. I also wasn’t going to...
I also searched the owners manual, for the 25 model year the diagrams were removed and I believe it points you to the dealership. It basically seemed as though Ford didn’t want folks doing the wiring of anything themselves.
I did not paint them, I will be keeping an eye on them and if needed I will take them off and paint them. Luckily it is a pretty easy install now that the holes were drilled out, so removing the bumper and taking them off should take less then an hour if I need to.
Unfortunately, I do not believe ball joints are covered once you install a lift (of any type) as it accelerates the wear on those components. I have always planned for replacing ball joints earlier once I have lifted my Jeeps previously.
Not sure about the 16 heavy duty steel frame reinforcements in that kit, @Maximus-3 does sell the frame horn reinforcement kit which I did install. It is 2 plates (inner and outer) per side which are behind the bumper, it added 2 M12 bolts (1 per plate) and then the 3 front tow mount bolts...
Yes it is pricey, I got. It on sale at Labor Day so it was a little cheaper. I considered all the relocating of things to add a winch to the front permanently and did not like the options for the price. Plus I really like the front end as it comes, so I didn’t want to ugly it up. For the money...
Yes, they have a battery quick connect kit that allows for it to be attached and detached cleanly. I will add pictures of the winch and connect kit when I get the installed next week.
In all my time wheeling, I have only had to winch myself 3 times, all out of thick mud. I have used it to winch others more during trips, I don’t do a lot of hardcore rock crawling, but I do go out exploring solo occasionally, so having a winch is needed as a safety measure.
I used a 12.3mm drill bit (31/64 I think), it is a bit for drilling metal from Harbor Freight, just the two outside holes needed to be drilled. The inner frame horn reinforcement bracket bolt went right in. I did use smaller bits to start with, just the 2 sizes down so that it was easier to...
I took the time today to install the @Maximus-3 winch mount saddle with the frame horn reinforcements. The directions that came with the setup are very easy to follow, the only issue I ran into was drilling out the outside holes for the frame horn reinforcements, which was a my drill issue. Now...
I am doing the Maximus-3 removable winch kit for my Bronco Raptor, it is currently sitting in my garage waiting for me to get started. Probably Sunday or Monday I will get it started, I will make a post about it when I get it done.
I have the Morrflate 4 tire inflation system, the digital air hub wasn’t out yet, and it is well worth it. Because I already have my setup, I do not see a reason to upgrade to this, but if it was out when I was buying I would have purchased it.
