Just looking that up ... I have a Black Diamond with Mid - it's not standard on the BD, it's not in the Mid package. It is standard on the Wild Trak. What model do you have?
Thought Iād ask - one theory is that this is the module that controls ACC - if youāre me ⦠no ACC ⦠one manās disaster is another manās lottery win.
I'm tagging this on to your post as you are a fellow 2 door VCD (very cool dude).
I sorted the Ice Chips spreadsheet for 2 doors only:

Two Door, Non-Sas
56%
Two Door, Sas

So ... 21% of the...
Great explanation ⦠to me the fact that they continue to produce WIP instead of shutting down indicates Ford sees a relatively short (1 - 2 month) āchip holdā vs a longer term āchip shortageā. I am heartened that they knocked out almost 13,000 vehicles (apparently except for certain chips)...
I am in the same boat and feel your pain. I think something like starting this month dedicate some amount of production to filling the oldest res/orders first independent of allocation. That would take some of the sting out of it and still allow Ford to b-slap the āMSRP lessā dealers. I see...
Was that at your dealer? If not the reason is allocation - you donāt like it, I donāt like it, but thatās the reason. As production rises allocations will play a smaller role
I am not even sure they are filling each dealers allocations - once all (or most all dealers) are getting their allocations filled donāt you think ford will change the formula? Or not build as many as they can? This will pass ā¦
I am not an accountant - are you saying itās not possible, given that these are 99.99% finished? Got to be āready to shipā? Part of me would like to believe that as it would mean āproductionā was actually much higher than 12,900 which would be great news.
I put this together monthly:
I suspect that the vehicles on "chip hold" are in fact counted as produced, which is perhaps good news as maybe Ford expects them to be moved out in the near term (think GAAP). The sobering part is the downturn on sales and the erosion of Gross Stocks (dealer...
Not necessarily, if Ford chooses to count the vehicles on chip hold as āproducedā given they are essentially ready (to be clear I do not know this to be a fact) it could explain the rise in production with the accompanying fall off in sales. Iāll publish a chart later.
