Update. This is what I have found with my 2.3, 2 door, Badlands, Sasquatch, manual, stock. If you want to take a nap like drivers with automatic transmissions, leave it in fifth and set the cruise. It climbed every hill and fought every head wind without issue. Possibly lost an MPG maybe 2...

That was my thought but never any smell. I am leaning back towards too much boost and the blow off valve opening.

I’m use to the diesel just pulling and not caring how much boost it is getting :)

My plan on the way home is to shift to 5th for uphill climbs. My guess at first it was the engine cutting boost at high load.

To add there has been a few times now on this trip were the clutch definitely slipped when going up hill at speeds faster than 50MPH.

The last time I checked, loaner vehicles were at the discretion of the dealership. Typically mannequin or salesman's cars and is not a guaranteed service from Ford.

Same. I was prepared to walk away. You need to find a dealer that guarantees the purchase price in writing when ordering. Even then, there is probably a way around that but then you know you've done what you can.

Do not buy. Buying encourages this behavior.
