Can't confirm or deny...
No goat modes used the entire race. Just traction control off. Roach is correct, but most of the race was in 2H. 4L was when we absolutely needed it.
Jeep drivers have been pretty quiet the last couple weeks lol
regardless of the DNF, we still positioned first in our race class. Our team had the fastest overall time in class. As a team built from almost 100% rookies Iād say thatās a pretty big win. š¤š¼
The closed gate was fiasco definitely caused a lot of confusion at the end there, but SCORE officials acknowledged the mess up and made that our finish line (actual finish line was only less than a mile after the gate). Original time credit because of the closed gate put us under the 36 hour...
2.3 power to weight ratio is excellent, lighter engine is easier for the front suspension to manage, and the manual not only transfers engine power more efficiently but it also stays a lot cooler without a torque converter.
Iāll happily take one hand off the wheel for half a second to change...

The only one on the team with any race experience at all was Ken Brown, the first navigator. For the the rest of the entire team, it was our very first ever race.
Haven't actually had a chance to look into he rack yet. I want to get it apart and see what it looks like internally. Everything works the way its supposed to though!
I didn't want to have too many pictures in the writeup but I still wanted to share everything form the aftermath. Below will be a photo dump of all the additional pictures.
Been asked by multiple people for a complete breakdown of the Baja 1000 so here it is! Iāll be taking a deep dive of all aspects of my first ever off road race. This was a huge milestone in my life and the beginning of my racing journey. This review has taken me a little longer than anticipated...
I can save us 40 minutes just by changing how we did fuel. This 1000 had a lot of learning experiences, but going from zero race background to racing the most difficult race has its obvious challenges lol
