To be specific, I drive a white 4 door Wildtrak, I have seen a green 4 door Badlands and a black 2 door base (no badges) missing their Sasquatch spare tires.
Anybody else in the Austin area get their spare tire stolen last week? I live in central Austin and my spare was stolen, and I have seen 2 other Broncos in the Crestview/Brentwood area missing their spares.
So as James Bond says, “Once is happenstance. Twice is coincidence. Three times is...
Just ran out to pick up some food and a 2 door base with Sas turned in front of me also missing the spare tire. So 3 Broncos, including mine, missing the Sas spare tire in the same neighborhood. Sure looks like somebody was shopping.
3 locking nuts and a kryptonite bike chain. Hopefully it makes me less attractive. Bike chain was the tightest of fits and it would only reach on the bottom.
Also, getting the tire back on the carrier is really hard if you are trying to stay clean. (I didn't stay clean)
I don't think that neighborhood kids would have taken my tire. The fact that there is another Bronco missing their spare tire in the same neighborhood at the same time makes me think that these guys were specifically targeting Broncos for a quick easy grab of a high dollar item.
It happened at my residence in the middle of the night. I did not notice that the tire was gone for several hours and only confirmed that it happened at my house by reviewing the cameras, which showed me driving off with the tire already missing.
I live in a 50's suburban house in central...
They use your spare. They are only there to keep your hands from getting dirty. There is no way my wife could change one of these tires. Physically not possible
I have roadside assistance from my insurance for like $4 every 6 months. Wife got a flat and they sent somebody out. Turns out her temporary spare was low, so the the roadside guy filled it up with his compressor and swapped out the tire. Best $4
My daughter just sent me a picture of a Bronco with Sasquatch missing the spare tire a few blocks from the house. Looks like it might have been "shopping" around here.
For what it is worth, I did file a police report. This was a completely automated process. I received an automated email letting me know that since there was not enough evidence to identify a suspect that my case would automatically be suspended.
On the plus side, the email does include...
For what it is worth, I filed a police report so that at least there is a data point. The sad reality is that there is no evidence since my cameras were blocked by a tree other than me making a legal statement that my tire was stolen.
I was only joking, but I will file that in my mental...
unfortunately, I think something like this will be required to dissuade the thief from a repeat visit to my Bronco. I will probably add some camera coverage and more aggressive notifications.
I would not put the key in the glove box. I would keep it with the jack or somewhere less obvious. I no longer keep my replacement bronco toolkit in the glovebox.
