Picked up a hell of a ding in a parking lot. Took it by the best dent repair place in the city. He worked on if for 2 hours, but couldn't get access to the back of the panel. Ford has bonded a metal plate to the outer door skin apparently. Dents are going to be difficult if not impossible to...
I know that sound well, I've heard it since February of 22 after taking delivery Dec of 21. For what it's worth I've never not driven it out of concern about the noise. I've never had anything but smooth shifting, hopefully it continues that way. I do get strange looks in the carpool line though.
I picked my Bronco up from the dealership for them to document the problem with the transmission. While it was there, they also did this at some point. I picked it up today (Sunday) so there was no one there to talk to about it. I'm not expecting a good outcome from this.
It’s really interesting that everyone that has posted to the sheet that their transmission was replaced had the noise come back. So, either all the replacements are defective as well, or those particular broncos have something wrong that damages the transmission.
There was a separate poll to get a rough idea about how often it’s happening, the spreadsheet was to track those of us having the problem. But again, I didn’t start the spreadsheet so I’ll let whoever did decide what it is.
The fact that every single replaced transmission failed to solve the problem leads me to believe it is exceedingly common. Unless it’s something about other defects (driveshaft angle?) on certain broncos that’s chewing these transmissions up.
I’m not running the spread sheet but I don’t think we need it cluttered with people that aren’t having the problem, it’s specifically for those that are having the same grinding noise.
Maybe? It's only when I leave town for a week or more. I leave my head lights on auto, so anytime I start the car they're on. I've never noticed my lights randomly on in the garage but maybe that's it. I'm assuming they're going to say they couldn't find anything and I'll start down the rabbit...
Dropped mine off yesterday to document the grinding. Not doing the TSB, just getting it officially into the Ford system. Having them adjust the soft top, hopefully replace the cracked steering wheel cover, and ferreting out my slow battery drain that kills the battery anytime I leave it in the...
I can’t recall any other model that has cheap stickers stuck to the side denoting which trim package you bought. It’s usually an actual badge. That said, I think it made it look cluttered and the bronco script looks SO much better in my opinion.
Just got the trans oil analysis back from Blackstone. No smoking gun, but a possible new problem, water intrusion. I’ve not taken it off road with any water. I do drive in downtown Charleston where it floods frequently, however not high enough to submerge the trans.
Do you really hear it in every gear? Mine is loud and always there regardless of the temp, but really I can't hear it beyond 2nd gear due to road and wind noise.
