I'm keeping mine...I place marbles on it, held in place by the spring-loaded wiper arm.
Comes in handy for tailgaters.

I've never had a soft top before, and I am impressed with it...much better than the raggedy-ass tops my jeep friends had years ago.
I think for short trips that back position would be preferable, for ease of access.
I bought a ~ 1 foot hitch extension, but I don't have anything to tow...I put it on there to use as a step, so I can reach crap on the rack without carrying a ladder...I'm O-L-D!!!

I just strap stuff up there for camping. Still looking for a good strap; takes longer to deal with the excess strappage than to tie your stuff down.
Having seen a few hard tops (accidentally) disassembled on B6G, I am NOT throwing anything heavy up there!!!

I've found ditch lights on the mirror supports are very easily added, and are great help, as are fogs.
