I was 11 months into this issue when the TSB came out, up until that point I got the party line “normal performance for this unit”

Came back from a week of not driving my bronco and found it had a dead battery, this is the third time. Extremely frustrating.

I would still take the manual. It shifts great despite the noise and like others have said, they’ll get it figured out eventually. I’m just going to keep driving until that point, which I hope is a redesigned transmission. I really don’t want my current trans to have to be cracked open.

Interesting they said 4th and 5th when TSB says 5th and 6th, that’s why I thought they had torn it down.

They actually reassembled the trans and gave it back to you?

My dealer talked with their transmission guy and confirmed they don’t have to open the trans just to order the parts. I did mention that nobody else is having to do this, but the service advisor was pretty adamant until he talked to his transition guy. Currently on the schedule for Feb 21...

I just sent my transmission fluid off to Blackstone today, be interesting to see what it shows.

I replaced my fluid with Synchromesh II, it meets the specs ford has. It didn’t help at all. Afraid of going outside specs and voiding the warranty.

Did they say why they chose replacement over the TSB?

I wonder if we went on Toyota forums if people are complaining about similar things. Toyotas, especially the trucks are famous for crappy interiors, irregular gaps, squeaking etc.

Why are you still doing this? All you do is tell them to contact their dealer.

My dealer said they sold all the loaners and hadn’t replaced them yet.

I’m going to talk to the service manager.

My dealer told me they would have to open the transmission and confirm the problem before they could even order the parts, seems backwards. Either leaving a transmission torn down to get all sorts of crap in it, or reassembling to then have to tear it down again once the parts arrive.
