It sure looks like one side of the clutch disk is completely gone, while the other side has friction material. That tells me it's not you, because the disk floats, and should wear (or burn up) somewhat evenly. Almost looks like it was binding / stuck on the splines.
Gas pressure in the shock has almost zero effect on spring rate and is just a static force, so can just be subtracted from sprung weight.
But aside from that, something doesn't sound right. You have 9.7" of up travel at the wheel (5.65 spring / MR)? That means the wheel rate is only ~115 lb/in...
Oh also (afterthought) I had a 2025 Base 4dr also, with MIC top. Drove that for about 3 months, traded it for the 2 dr - who needs all those doors right? Never did actual measurements, but subjectively it was very quiet, felt exactly the same inside as my current 2dr with MIC.
I currently have both, painted on a 2025 Badlands and MIC on a 2025 base. The Base with the MIC is hands-down quieter, not just subjectively, but by measurement.
On the same strip of highway, where I measured noise in the Base/MIC at about 72 - 74 dB at 65, the Badlands/Painted measured 82 -...
Had this exact thing happen the other day. I was able to inch the window up to the close position, making sure I didn't click all the way to auto. So go up to a few inches from closed, then another inch or so, then again. I don't know why it worked, but I could get the window all the way up that...
Does anyone know if the 49-state tune for '25 can technically be applied to a CA vehicle? Is there any data in the computer that identifies the vehicle as CA and will block the programming?
I know it's messy, but if it were me, I would pull that inboard boot and inspect it at full droop and compression. At droop, the rollers are closer to the edge of the housing, increasing the risk of housing failure. At compression, the tripod can hit the back of the housing, plus the shaft can...
Weird. I was just looking for the part number for this piece like 30 minutes ago.... I'm going to modify one with magnets so that I can snap it in, change the oil, then remove it for cleaning. Tired of reaching up and making a feeble attempt at cleaning it. Yes I'm a neat freak.
The painted top is not quieter. I have a 2025 2dr with MIC, and a 2025 with painted top. Painted is much louder. In fact it measures a full 10 dB louder at 65 mph, and 12+ dB louder at higher speeds. The MIC sound level never goes above 75 dB. I've measured the painted top at 90 dB - that's...
To be clear, it was offered in the 25 Badlands for the first half of the year (Job 1) but removed for the second half of production year (Job 2). I have an earlier '25 Badlands, and it does have the auto-dimming mirror.
Mine also does not have it, and it's a 2025 Base SAS, Job 2 build (Nov 2025). In fact if you look under the dash, the light bracket is there, but no light module is installed.
The early 2025 Order Guide lists "Ambient Footwell Lighting" but on the updated guide it is not there. So essentially...
2025 BaseSquatch 2.3 auto, getting 18-ish around town, and 20.4 on the highway. Doesn't vary much.
Also 2025 BL non-sas 2.3 MT 4dr for comparison, always get over 20. On road trips, 23-ish.
Both bone stock (for now).
I wasn't really in a position to troubleshoot, I mainly wanted to back out of a trail; but I did try:
Accessory on (no engine start) from being completely off - still locked.
Cycle Accessory (on, then off) - still locked.
Start engine - still locked.
Parking brake on/off, different gears...
