I’ve run up past the ledges on a day trip into the Rubicon, looking forward to doing the rest. Lots of great feedback here. Thanks.
Im surprised you’re not considering the rear lower control arm bracket skids after your trip. The brackets are very steep on the Raptor, hang low and don’t have...
Skid to cover mufflers seems like it would trap a lot of heat. I’ve learned if I have to take a big rock down the middle, keep it to the passenger side 🤪🤪
Idk. Ive done a lot of wheeling over the last 18 months and the front bumper ends have not made contact yet.
I did remove the little air dam things. They’re just silly.
I’ve installed them. The bolt has to come out. Dropping the tank isnt required for that bolt, it’s more so you can slip the Foutz skid into place under the tank skid. You have to remove all but the front one or two bolts on the gas tank skid, then lower the tank quite a ways (maybe 4-6...
You can see the recovery (2 unsuccessful attempts) using a kinetic rope at the 1:10 point. You’ll hear the clank in both from the bumper bending. They weren’t aggressive pulls. You can also see/hear my easy pull right after. I was going backward and downhill, but the Bronco wasn’t that...
I’ve recently seen someone who replaced the OEM air box with an aftermarket intake. It APPEARED to have cleared enough room to mount a compressor in the engine bay. Might be an option if you’re considering modifying air intake as well.
Don’t mean to talk trash, but I’ve personally seen two of the Turn Off-road bumpers (non-tube) on standard Broncos bend using the recovery points for doing snow recoveries. I think it may have to do with the slotted mounting points on the bumper. Not sure if tube style has same weakness. ...
I’m in the standard black flares camp, but I’ve also removed the mud flap extensions on the flares, the front bumper air dams, ditched those big ole steps for some body hugging RCI sliders and replaced the rear bumper with an ADD Rock fighter. IMO, all this makes subtraction the truck look way...
Your stock Sasquatch tires are All Terrains and meet the tire requirement (look for a little M+S marking on the sidewall) in CA for 4WD/AWD to pass the chain control checkpoint.
If you read the actual requirements it says you still have to carry chains. But…..in practice almost no one in 4WD...
I ended up leaving it. It was going to be a lot of work to modify, I’d probably introduce some new risk and it’s pretty well protected in most circumstances. most likely spot to snag it is backing into some sturdy brush and looping it over a broken/cut branch.
After running over a large...
I’m curious to hear what people’s opinions are on pros / cons of going with Hyperco lift springs vs. lift collars (e.g Foutz) to lift/level their Raptor. What are your thoughts? TIA

I’ll get back out there at some point. Raining for the next week so it’ll be awhile. If and when I get new video, I’ll post it here.
But from past experience I’d typically be in Baja mode and I don’t believe I’ve had anywhere near that much rebound. But feeling the rebound and seeing the...
You’re welcome! I’m glad this worked out for you. You can buy me a beer if you’re ever in California.
it always stuns me the amount of bad advice that people give on protection on these forums. Its hard to figure out what the right answer is if you’re jumping in fresh. Glad it worked out...
