Well, make sure ya'll don't contaminate it!!!
My Bronco (2.3l) has that dry crank(?) feature where you hold the throttle to the floor and there's no ignition.
Does a great job of filling the filter after oil changes.
Anyone know if the Ranger 2.3l has this?
Yes; if you've ever assembled the crank/rods on a plain bearing motor, IE: just about EVERY modern internal combustion engine, you KNOW that metal has not traveled.
Otherwise, that 2.3l would sound like a rock crushing machine.
I had a Wally World nEverstart battery in my Kubota tractor, which is on a battery maintainer when not running.
Battery is a bit of a chore to get to...I was looking in there one day, noticed the terminals were corroded, looked at the date sticker; battery was FOURTEEN YEARS OLD!!!
I pulled it...
The battery on my 22 Badlands was going down overnight, shutting off modem access.
I installed a Lensun solar panel/controller on/under the hood.
Battery is now great.
The holes on the OUTSIDE of the filter are the feed (pressure) side.
The center hole is the outflow of the filter into the oil system.
I had this wrong for decades, until I hooked up a remote oil filter/cooler system on the 466 I built for my F-250.
The oil flows INTO the outside of the filter, and back into the engine from the center.
That is an oil filter defect.
Hopefully, no other pieces of that crap got into your engine; they look too big to go very far.
If you've got good oil pressure, and no obvious problems/noises, you may just be...
