I can't imagine an issue going from a 32" to a 33" or a 265/70 vs 285/70.
If it was me though I wouldn't worry about the lift, I think the better stance of the BL is partially because the tires are a bit wider.
So one option is to keep the height as is and get a 285/65. It should look pretty...
This is the point. The question isn't whether lockers are more capable, hard to argue they aren't, but whether the ABS LSD it good enough for a person's intended usage.
For example lets say that open diffs are 20% capable and lockers are 100% capable. (completely random numbers used for...
Ah, so maybe I was understanding it wrong.
It isn't T/C that helps by applying brake but ABS? So with T/C off you will still have the computer controlled ABS LSD?
Sweet!
Love the info, learning a lot.
So this thread should actually be titled "Off road ability of computer controlled ABS LSD"
Yeah I was trying to climb a fairly long steep loose dusty/rocky hill in my F150 4x2 and the truck stopped halfway up even with the rear locked. Nothing as frustrating as pushing the throttle with no response. I scratched my head for a minute and realized I left T/C on.
I backed down and tried...
I posted this in another thread but thought maybe it deserved its own.
With the only locker option on the base being $5,790 Squatch package the point was made that brake actuated traction control acts as a "poor man's locker" and the diffs aren't completely "open".
Depending on usage may be...
On a side note I think Ford should OEM the Jimny from Suzuki and brand it as the Colt or something.
Manual trans, ~2,400lbs, 102 hp, ~$17k, never coming to the US
This is interesting..
Here is a video of the new Suzuki Jimny that shows its features. It has what I think is the same brake actuated traction control demonstrated very effectively at about the 18:00 minute mark.
At lower speeds the wheel without traction can simply spin, assumedly because...
Yeah, after market was listed as an option to be complete but never really an option for me since Squatch has so much that comes with.
More than I need really..
The only thing I want on base that I can't get is rear locker. (A hitch too but that is easy to add later)
The following are all calculated on B&P with only option selected being 2.7. Everything else is default. Because as long as it as A/C and cruise everything else is gravy for me.
As far as...
I agree
With companies like 5-star getting upwards of 500HP out of a 2.7 swapping to a 3.5 might not justify the expense. If you need more than that might as well go big and shoot for 750HP +
