I normally like Chip's work, but there should be one simple rule... DON'T SLAM 4x4's!
The exception would be the Russians at Garage 54: https://www.motortrend.com/news/hummer-h2-tiny-13-inch-wheels-video-shop/
Best looking H2 ever!
Unfortunately its not the roof and hood... or even the doors so much that are the issue. It's the rockers, sills, floor pans and other panels that require cutting/welding to replace.
That being said, it will be interesting in a few more years to see how the Al F150's fare against steel body...
Maybe they could reveal the battery powered ventilator masks (with F150 seat blower motors) they were working on at the same time! Also, the air bag material gowns and other items. Personally I think that would make for an interesting side event at a reveal.
Bronco Excursion? Well we know they had identified opportunity for a large rugged vehicle.
Personally I don't need a large vehicle, so "The Bronco" is the one for me.
I like it, but I hope the center display can be turned off completely at night and the instrument cluster dimmed down to nothing or almost nothing. I miss the days when you could completely turn off the instrument cluster lighting.
I agree on the rotary knobs. I've had rentals with them and did not care for it at all.
My wife drives a C-Max and we're thinking of a Corsair Hybrid as a replacement. At first glance, I like the push button/toggle/piano key... whatever it is control of the Corsair. Liked it even more in a...
It cracks me up that the biggest gripe about the automatic is, essentially, that it doesn't look like a manual.
I think it automatics should just be Alexa/Google enabled... so you can say Alexa, tell Sync to put my GT500 in Drive.
I mean why have to reach for a lever or knob to go like hell?
I knew it was a Merc... just having fun. BTW... my last automatic was an '85 Mercury Marquis Brougham (Fox platform). It was fun, but only because it was a college beater and I didn't give a damn what happened to it. Probably to this day my favorite car, for that reason.
Transmission... Must have a manual option!
From what I've seen, they've covered every other "must have" base for me, so it just comes down to the transmission (and how its offered).
Now I expect others like "FirstOnRaceDay" to vomit up a bunch of crap like automatics are stronger, more...
Should have included the Ford.com link...
https://www.ford.com/suvs/bronco/
Not only includes the two Brochures you linked, but also one of my favorite Bronco pics, just because it seems so ridiculous:
Late 1960's Overlander!
Agree... only looking for a manual, but cannot be a base model.
Current list is as follows (assuming manual options are available in a higher package level):
1) 2 Door Bronco Raptor, Limited, Platinum, FX4...
2) 4 Door Bronco...
3) New 2022 Ranger Lariat FX4
4) Tacoma TRD Pro
5) 2021 Frontier...
