My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who heard Ford is having extra trouble with the chips because alternate manufacturers are making them too heavy and putting the Bronco over GVWR.
I actually lucked into an event with open registration slots just yesterday (via random Facebook ad), so I'll get to see one (and be on the official list) in about two weeks. As an added bonus, it's a week before the other one I was planning to crash.
Definitely couldn't be caused by increases in travel (hitting records for airline travel since the pandemic began, for example) and OPEC production cuts or anything.
Gas was averaging $2.63 in January of 2020. It was higher at times in 2019 and 2018. Presidents have limited effects...
Several thoughts:
I have a friend who once worked auto shows as a vehicle rep, and while they studied up on the vehicle they were there for, they were more hiring models than vehicle experts. I'd take that 12MPG comment with a huge grain of salt, especially since manufacturers need to be...
Put my order in on 1/20 and aside from adding towing, nothing changed. Build:
A51 Badlands 4-door
Lux
Leather
keyless entry
floor liners
2.7
MIC
Tow package
Stock wheels / tires (I have good memories of the BFK KO's from my '07 Ranger FX4-II)
This is the first vehicle I've been really excited...
Now you know how I picked my username. After lurking for a long time and being uninterested in joining in the complaints, I finally got suckered in by complaint / incorrect conjecture #8000 regarding GVWR (and again, the headliner being provided is proof they weren't leaving it off due to GVWR...
But... if they can track my car then they'll know where to send the planes with the contrails that drop the chemicals that activate the 5G chip I got through my vaccination! WAKE UP SHEEPLE!!!!
I could see a dealer doing this with maybe one reservation, but with the name matching, I'm not sure how they'd get away with several without majorly risking their allocation.
Interesting! I know the Michigan dealers did a specific dealer event thing (that I wish I was around for!). The event here I found from another B6G post and is booked through The Bronco Family website, which is specific to each dealer hosting (for example...
I've seen a lot of dealers are doing Bronco events, and the dealer ~3 miles from me will be doing one next month, but I'm not buying from them. Has anyone gone to one of these dealer events without a scheduled invite? I don't care as much about sitting in it as just SEEING one. Is it worth...
Like others, I have leather in my 17 Escape and had it in my 2010 Fusion that I had for ~6 years. It's held up well. Neither of them got that "loose" / wrinkled look like some of the pre-production Broncos had. Also no tears or anything. I ordered it for my Badlands without hesitation.
I called yesterday to add the towing package - decided I didn't want to deal with it myself later on. Other than that, I've pretty much been set on my build since B&P came online. 😁
I think "The Drive" needs to hire new writers or new editing staff. I try not to be overly picky but the sentence:
"In case you can't disseminate what you're looking at..."
Makes absolutely no sense. I think he might have been going for "discern". It's also possible the writer was the same...
Damn you Ford, for not being able to break the laws of physics to make the seats fold into a space smaller than they are!
Seriously - they are maximizing available space. I guess they could just make the floor in the rear higher so the sears are flush, but that goes against the whole...
I haven't had a "real" antenna on a vehicle for a while, but after noticing this a while back, I see plenty of new trucks still have the old-school whip antenna. At the least, I think it's useful for making sure I can fit into a parking garage. There are some low ones in the DC area.
