  1. Ford Dealers May Not Have New Inventory Until August

Here is a good explainer on what is causing the issues. It's not really a "China trying to control things" situation. Just unexpected demand, supply-side issues (basically not investing enough in being able to produce more). China and Chinese company Huawei are also blaming US sanctions against...
  2. Ford Dealers May Not Have New Inventory Until August

It's quite a situation we find ourselves in. People got too wrapped up in unmitigated capitalism - have to keep the stock prices high, so what is a company to do? Outsource parts, outsource work, replace employees with contract workers. Stock price goes up, rich get richer, and the cycle...
  3. Can we cut Ford some slack?

Some are considering it. I mean, even Land Rover can get me a custom build in 3-4 months from order time. That may still be sooner than Ford can get me a Bronco that was ordered morning after launch, and that only because the website was down night-of and I went to sleep.
  4. Can we cut Ford some slack?

Some HAVE ordered shortly after launch (under 24 hours) and still won't see one until over a year (close to a year and a half for some) after ordering, and that's not counting the SAS+manual / painted hard top type of restrictions, and that's because of the dealer allocation formula. For a...
  5. 3rd time’s a charm? 4/29 emails....who’s ready?

That's odd. Already getting off the schedule they set last month? Are they trying to push things later so when people get a late build date they'll at least be a month closer? At this point I'll expect them to blow the "everyone knows by May" thing, too.
  6. Bronco King Shocks 2.5 are available

I just realized, maybe I can get my bronco faster by ordering all the parts and assembling it myself...
  7. Can we cut Ford some slack?

COVID was happening before the big release in July. They also were already aware of possible hard top issues with Webasto, so those things are sort of on them for not setting realistic delivery dates. I just read an old article yesterday from last August that laughably said "when they arrive in...
  8. 3rd time’s a charm? 4/29 emails....who’s ready?

I'm certain many people are tired of people complaining about the Bronco roll-out. Many of us were tired of the complaints about the phantom GVWR issue and weird fixation on cupholders, too. Frankly, the roll-out HAS been a debacle. Enough so that I'm shopping other brands, but I'm not...
  9. Ford

I think it's also worth mentioning the Bronco Sport is based on the Escape platform, which they've been building in Mexico for years. Logistically it would make no sense to build them in different locations.
  10. 3rd time’s a charm? 4/29 emails....who’s ready?

I JUST received an email from Ford... it was from "Local Ford Dealer" and was trying to get me to buy an Escape, Explorer, or Edge. :cautious:
  11. 3rd time’s a charm? 4/29 emails....who’s ready?

The only GOAT mode I want is "Gets One Allocated Today". ... or not... the delay is leading to cross-shopping. I'll be happy one way or another.
  12. Compared to a Defender - some general thoughts and concerns.

I really put some time into the reliability concern as I weigh my options, but then I thought about my current Escape, which had the dreaded 2.0L ecoboost failure, so they had to swap the engine which took about two weeks. It's all sort of a roll of the dice. At least if I get a LR, there are a...
  13. Compared to a Defender - some general thoughts and concerns.

As I'm not very hopeful about getting my Bronco despite an early order, I've been playing around more with the Defender Build and Price. Seems like I'm running into a issue where if I choose the 110 with the 6-cylinder, I can get pretty much all I want but it's $15k over my Bronco build... or I...
  14. Official 2021 BRONCO SCHEDULING UPDATE + June Production Demand vs Capacity [Commodity / Constraints] Chart

I'm not sure Ford really monitors this forum very closely. In the end members here are a small fraction of people who ordered Broncos. They HAVE succeeded in making this life long Ford customer feel like he's in an abusive relationship. In the end I have the power to solve that and I'm...
  15. Compared to a Defender - some general thoughts and concerns.

That is an easy promise to make!
  16. Compared to a Defender - some general thoughts and concerns.

The budget thing is definitely a concern, depending on how it's optioned. I'm definitely not looking at a fully loaded Defender with the V8. :) if I get a June or early July build I'll probably be OK, though I'm already getting screwed by the Northern Virginia annual inspection on my current...
  17. Compared to a Defender - some general thoughts and concerns.

You sound like a real fun guy. It's a shame we didn't get to chat at the Bronco event at Battlefield Ford since it appears we were there at the same time, since you managed to catch my reflection in a photo. Think of all the calm and well-reasoned discussions we could have had! For example, I...
