According to my dipstick it retained a quart. 6-7 quart fill according to Ford. I put 6 in after draining it and it's at the 2nd hole which is technically overfilled. Did you not read any/all of this thread or what I wrote? Not being mean, just wondering since you said what you did.
I did my oil today. I let the oil drain with my driver's side jacked up for 4 hours. Oil level in the oil collection pan was exactly 6 quarts. These engines retain a quart and you really never get all the old oil out, so 6 quarts is what went back into mine. My "factory" dipstick showed slightly...
I leased a gladiator from Chapman until my Bronco arrived. I'd definitely buy a Bronco if I had to do it again. The Gladiator was nice but I wasn't smiling everytime I drive it like I do in the Bronco. It rides much better in almost every aspect.
I guess my ears aren't so sensitive yet at the young age of 44. But I notice really no road noise in mine. And I love the sound with the doors and top off. I even had someone ask me if the Bronco was electric. But nice project if it helps you.
Have the JTop and really like it. To everyone complaing about the velcro messing up the precious finish on the roll bar, I'm glad the velcro is on there. From taking my hardtop off, I had so many scratches on it before. Now it's at least somewhat protected.
