I get the "basic" side of it. My first car was an 85 Ranger with no power steering, no power brakes, a manual, and just painted metal for a headliner (and a real nasty hot vinyl seat). I still sort of miss that thing. I still wish I had the money to purchase that uncut rear-fender 66 Bronco I...
This is the kind of take only someone from MD who drives like they're from MD could make.
Also, stop being a jerk. Just looking at what was snapped and the leaking fluids definitely says it's more than minor damage. Hope the OP makes out OK from the insurance, at least. Really sucks.
What if I told you a vehicle could be more "luxury" and not lose the off-road capabilities? What if I told you there was even a market for such things? A nice interior doesn't mean it can't off-road.
If they made a nicer interior - better materials, added heated / cooled seats, and a bit more...
Really has to suck to be the poor customer service person. Clearly they are understaffed, people sit on hold forever, and because of that I'd guess the majority of callers are pretty upset and rude by the time they get to someone. Bestop should definitely hire more people to answer phones, but...
Don't give BMW too much credit. My 2013 BMW motorcycle had two failed fuel pumps within two years (just out of warranty) - let it sit for any period of time and even though the gas is still fine, the pump seizes. You have to take all of the "tank" (the panels that look like the tank but aren't)...
Certainly nobody would ever take a Defender off pavement. Mall crawlers, all of them! ;) (this should have been my Badlands in the Badlands, but I managed).
This is sort of what I did, but I didn't hold out as long (same reservation date, but I was a few hours after you). In June 2021 I ordered a different vehicle, but kept my 4-door Badlands order. The competition arrived Sept 1st (just under three months from order) and the Badlands ended up...
I ended up not taking my Badlands order, because I had gotten something else. The dealer was able to sell it immediately, so you might want to see if you can get on a waiting list somewhere to give yourself a better chance.
That guy seems... not right. o_O
Thanks! I'm really looking forward to the trip! There will definitely be at least one night spent in Wall before heading to an AirBnB in the Rapid City area. Well, assuming i don't end up broken down, as I've been warned about driving a Land Rover, but I have...
Hey now, the Defender people are jerks to everyone - even other Defender drivers! It's harder to flip anyone off though, as proper driving style is pinkies out! ;)
In reality, I don't care what anyone drives and like seeing Broncos on the road, which is slowly becoming more common. I'm hitting...
First, sorry to OP for the troubles, that's never good, and I hope it gets sorted relatively quickly and easily!
Second, for those who like to wheel alone or just don't have anyone to wheel with (especially in areas lacking cell coverage), I'd suggest carrying something like a Garmin inReach or...
The pangea green / white is the setup I have. The sales manager where I got mine ordered one for himself after seeing mine (not a local dealer).
I hear you on the inline 6 with 18's. I'm seriously considering the rear brake mod so I can fit 18's. It's the only thing I wish they had offered...
Come to the Defender dark side... just avoid getting one in pangea green, because there are already enough around Northern Virginia. ;)
So far no mechanical issues with mine. Still love seeing the Broncos on the road, but they're still few and far between.

"The Ford Bronco is still in the water in Bar Harbor. A diver has positioned a number of floatation devices around the vehicle , which will lift it from the mud. At this point, the plan is to guide the vehicle over to the actual sandbar to Bar Island at high tide...
