This is a great point...do you have a link/specific name for it? I'll definitely do that. Should they do it, there's certainly no need to have to bring it back 3 times, warranty or not. Lost time is always bad!
Thank you for your honest and intelligent response. I am going forward and getting the 2023. If the dealership will help a bit with labor, I''ll likely have them install the HOSS 3.0 rack and pinion piece
This one...
Thank you for this data...I do not plan to be running this through extreme conditions on a regular basis...with that being said, you'd stick stock and not worry about it because it's not going to be involved in a lot of technical off-roading?
This begs the question though...why did ford upgrade...
I'm going with the 2023 as most everyone here has recommended...the cost difference (taking into account the 2000.00 price increase for 2024) would likely be minimal....
You're spot on...fear of something breaking is enough to make me want to be proactive. I'm getting the Sasquatch so I don't want to have to upgrade much save for the front bumper, with lights, winch, etc.
I'll be on the road 99% of the time and need it comfortable for longer rides, but I...
I am speaking with my salesperson and like everyone here, he advised getting the 2023 just in case there's any hold-ups with the 2024 or other increases...plus, no timeframe of build while mine should be getting built on Aug. 28.
In addition, they can get the HOSS 3.0 and install when I...
that's an option...but I really don't have the time to have it break and tow it somewhere and get it fixed as it sits at the dealership for a while.
Honestly, it's a non-issue that is an issue. There are 2 fixes...
1. Get 2021-23 and upgrade to the Hoss 3.0 rack and pinion
2. Get the 2024...
Follow up on that...does it really matter? If they upgrade the steering, I'll assume it's not longer an issue...if that is the case, it is really worth it to spend a lot for the 3.0 if there is no need and just go with the 2024...then again, 2000.00 more for the 2024 is a lot...
Upgrading the...
I have a Bronco that is set to be built soon. It's a 2023 BL. I know the rack and pinion has to go and it's a 1200 part, not including labor. The 2024 already has the steering issue resolved (updated).
So, here's the question...should I cancel my 2023 and get a 2024 (waiting isn't an issue...
This is the part people say to have Ford upgrade. I am getting the BL and many think the HOSS 2.0 is more than adequate, save for the rack and pionion....

your link is the steering rack with hd tie rods? Should we assume the part is the same now? Also, the badlands is a rather solid build save for the darn steering and tie rod issue....would you upgrade any other hoss 3.0 parts?
I think I only need the steering component...tie rods? The parts that fail on the HOSS 2 are the ones I'd like to upgrade before I even get the vehicle...
Do you have numbers for those?
I know we had a talk about converting the Badlands HOSS 2.0 to the Wild Trak's 3.0 some time ago. I cannot seem to find that thread and I'm not sure if the parts would be the same, anway...(not sure if 2021 to 2023 model years parts numbers change)
Regardless, my Badlands is being built soon...
