Yea if I had $80k there would be 0 chance of me spending it on a Defender lol. I would build and order the most glorious HD truck the world has ever seen instead.
I totally agree, especially if you got the cash for it. I didn’t mean to come off as attacking the idea. I was more so in awe of the pop-up prices and that there’s a reasonable demand for them. Like I said though, some of them are badass.
I don’t know so I won’t vote to skew the results. I do know that Ford is making me more nervous about buying new platform vehicle. At least my reservation is a MY22 so maybe I’m good haha.
Some of these prices are flat out insane. I can’t believe people pay $30k+ to go camping. I will TENT THE FUCK UP for 300 bucks. Some of these are badass and tactical looking though.
On the street, I would keep it in 2WD (when dry) or 4Auto (when wet/snowy). 4HI on the street is only acceptable for snow. 4Low is for offroad only. Anyone, feel free to correct me, but that’s how I ran my truck back when I lived in WV.
4Auto will really help on steep grades when wet, that’s...
They need to update that powertrain for my wants/needs. I see too many people complaining about it’s power once it’s armored up and loaded with gear. It’s the reason why GX460s are becoming popular overland vehicles. Same platform, better engine.
Easy fix Toyota, cmon.
It’s the silliest looking vehicle I’ve seen in awhile. At least Rivian has a proper design though, so there’s hope for electric trucks. Deliveries begin this upcoming June, OP.
I would go Badlands if you’re worried about trip mileage. With the Wildtrak, changing 35s and gas mileage are gonna cost a pretty penny over time. Especially with an 80 mile round trip (19,200+ miles/year assuming 4 weeks off work). Plus you get all the extra goodies with the Badlands.
At the...
The 2 door looks better non-squatched in my opinion. The Sasquatch package comes with so many other goodies which is why I’m torn. Specifically the front axle which I’m not 100% positive will be an a la carte option.
I wouldn’t say the Base comes with nothing. You get an 8” screen with apple/android CarPlay. The digital trail maps from Ford is on the Base I believe too. So there’s a little bit of spice on the Base trim. Just enough for me at least.
Depending on how tall you are, I bet you could sleep in it. It’s bigger in person. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised at its size. I’m not saying it would be comfortable though, just possible lol.
