  1. My Tool Storage Solution

I thought that kit was all imperial. Do they now sell a metric version? Or is it a combo?
  2. Order timing and constraints on options

Presuming they still have 2024 allocation, it should be no problem. We are in So Cal also. My son ordered his Badlands, 2.7, Sas with beadlock, hitch, black top, and leather on July 12th. Went into production on Monday, Aug 5. Was originally scheduled Aug 12th. Go for it.
  3. How risky is buying used?

It's quite simple. If you are worried about buying used, then don't. It appears you can afford new, so proceed ahead. I enjoy my vehicles more if I am not worried if they will work properly. If you are almost sure you want to buy used, but not quite comfortable, then find your local off-road...
  4. Bronco Hood Scoop

I agree. The scoop can go on any hood. Anyone who buys it will have to cut a hole to add it. Kind of a "one thing fits all". I have seen a couple of Bronco's that used Jeep scoops. I've seen Jeeps that use all kinds of crazy hood stuff.
  5. 2.7 Oil -- use motorcraft 5w-30 full synthetic or half synthetic ?

Ah, the rabbit hole question comes back again. You will never get a better answer than, "it all depends, ...." So, how much is marketing hype versus actual performance science? What are you really paying for? Remember, oil is any hydrophobic (hydrocarbon) substance that is liquid at 20-23...
  6. Bronco Hybrid 2025 Rumors?

Ford already tested a hybrid Bronco at the testing grounds in late 2023. But I doubt it will be a 2025 release. With the new battery tech coming out in 2025, it may be a 2026 release. Personally, having owned several battery-based vehicles, I would not buy the first year of a plug-in battery...
  7. Aftermarket Vented Hood for Rock Crawling - To Cool Engine / Control Temperature?

Looks better than drilling holes in the hood. But I would wait for the dual windshield sprayer version.
  8. Aftermarket Vented Hood for Rock Crawling - To Cool Engine / Control Temperature?

At crawl speeds, a hood scoop isn't going to do much more toward cooling the engine. Visualize a desk fan blowing on your (or your neighbor's) fire pit. Not enough force to do anything effective about the engine's heat dissipation. Ford pressurizes the radiator at 13psi and uses a 50/50...
  9. Rumor of no 2.7 in 2025?!?

So that confirms the rumor! Based on no facts or any one in a position of knowing, it's decided the 2.7 is going away. It's going to be replaced by better performing innuendo and more expensive fantasy. Glad I didn't have to read through 30 pages to find that out. However, the real facts...
  10. Spare Tire Cover Maintenance

PDMS (Polydimethylsiloxane aka dimethicone or dimethylpolysiloxane) is a chemical used to protect polymer plastics from UV exposure. When hit with UV, the PDMS elastomer cross links the methyl groups forming a SiO2 "film". That helps protect the vinyl's ethylene bonds from breaking when hit by...
  11. Custom license plate ideas.... wondering if anyone else gets it?

Um, No. BJ BLST Don't think that one will be approved.
  12. Help identifying who makes these grille letters/lights

Those are all Oracle Amber Illuminated Black Letters. Check this post by @Dr.Ross where he describes your top photo that has the black letters with the orange outline. I didn't find @StickerFab 's referenced orange outlined black vinyl letters. Maybe @StickerFab can inform readers where to...
  13. I need help validating my power distribution idea

I think you may be ahead of yourself on this. I am not dis'ing you on your idea. I feel there are many issues you are not aware of and currently don't have the knowledge to work through it before you spend a lot of money. I would not want you to destroy your electrical system based on inadequate...
  14. Need suggestions with a misaligning factory thread tap

Just to add to @KABQ's suggestion. There are other things you can try, but that is where I would start. I would use a separate bolt to do the alignment with. Those stand-offs don't look that sturdy. Take the stand-off to Home Depot, use their bolt sizer, and buy a Grade 8 bolt of the same...
  15. I have to drive my Everglades about 2,500 miles, which way should I face my snorkel for high speeds or long distances?

If you are driving above 30mph on a paved road, it is irrelevant. The snorkel routes air from 5 feet above your regular intake inside the engine bay. Above 30mph on an open road, there is barely any difference in the air temp or quality. It is an off-roading myth that snorkels improve engine...
  16. Cyber Attack of Dealerships Tracking System-CDK

What say you @flip ? @Ducati1098 ? What is the real pain level out there?
  17. I'm just here for a good time...

My first month's spends were: 1. Mud flaps (front & back) 2. Screen saver 3. Keyfob 4. Interior lights 5. Hood struts 6. Rockslide G3 Step Slider (spouse & kids pleaser) 7. Rustoleum Rust Reformer (for steel under the body, take a look, you'll understand) 8. Printed Owner's manual 9. D-Ring...
  18. Does Moab close after Sept?

I know it seems obvious, but, you can call them about the date you are considering. 888.260.5744 They might even schedule you in while you're on the phone. Wouldn't that be a convenient!
  19. Rusting on Beadlock OEM Bolts

Yeah, not a warranted item. They are wear and tear, like your tires. There have been a few threads on the beadlock bolt rusting issue. Those steel bolts don't have any special treatment or coating. It looks like you take care of your wheels. But rust seems to always find a way - particularly...
  20. Can a Ford Protect Extended Warranty Help You Beat Inflation?

Ironically, over 40% over buy coverage and trade/sell their vehicle before the warranty ends. That is an actuarial helper too. I anticipate warranty costs to go up next year. With the drop in the available capital market, domestic reindustrialization, and oil market instability, economists are...
