  1. Flat Tow failure

Interesting. I've had mine switch to the save battery mode but not while flat towing and I generally leave it in 2H so I've never noticed a change to the transfer case when the save battery mode was enabled. I have a battery charger that is connected to the RV so it charges the battery while...
  2. Key Fob Programming MUST DO (to have fully functioning OEM key fob spares)

Based on the thread you referenced, I purchased a Key FOB from Ford Parts. From the VIN, FordParts didn't show which FOB was correct for my Black Diamond so after entering my VIN, I started putting in the letter at the end of the part number, A, B, C, etc. For mine, the 'A' at the end of the...
  3. Flat Tow failure

I'm just curious if anyone with a manual transmission is experiencing transmission problems with flat towing? Mine is at the dealer now waiting on (MT) parts because of the synchro noise and the fix prescribed by the Technical Service Bulletin. The transmission was noisy (particularly when...
  4. Flat Tow failure

I guess my being cheap and getting the 2.3 with the MT was a lucky choice. I was trying to keep it light for flat towing and I'm cheap (frugal?) as well.
  5. Flat Tow failure

Correct, you have to push the clutch and brake in at the same time and hold for 7 seconds. I keep a list of the procedure for both enabling and disabling the Neutral Tow and follow it (again, obsessive-compulsive:))
  6. Flat Tow failure

I just got back from 5,000+ miles towing the Bronco. I haven't had any issues with the transmission (7 speed manual). I always check that the transfer case is in neutral after I see the 'Neutral Tow Enabled' message by putting it in gear and rocking it back and forth then putting the...
  7. Flat tow equipment needed to flat tow the 2021 Bronco?

Thanks, just wanted to know if I need some help with the bumper and how much time to allocate.
  8. Flat tow equipment needed to flat tow the 2021 Bronco?

I received the LOD front bumper frame tie in brackets. The instructions don't say anything about what has to be removed for installation. Did you have to remove the front bumper and skid plate? I have the Black Diamond with Modular Front Bumper, I think the same as your Badlands. I don't...
  9. Black Diamond lift/suspension upgrade

I'm of the same mind. My wife is old (and so am I) so too tall makes it difficult. I swapped out the OEM rock rails for Havoc Offroad Trailcrawler step/rock rails to ease the knee pain. I like the 21-23 mpg as well.
  10. Black Diamond lift/suspension upgrade

Were the Badlands non-sas Bilsteins take offs?
  11. Black Diamond lift/suspension upgrade

Looks good, about what I've been looking for. I'll probably go with the Bilstein 5100s for cost reasons.
  12. Bike transport inside Bronco

Works on the Hard Top, not easy on the soft top. Sorry I can't help with that.
  13. Black Diamond lift/suspension upgrade

:) Just got back from your area a month ago. Moab for a few days then South Fork/Lake City. Not brave enough for the Alpine loop alone, maybe next year.
  14. Black Diamond lift/suspension upgrade

Nope, it was blue. It was the only non-sas Bronco available when I was there (April this year). I chose it because it was the closest to my non-sas BD. Never used the front locker and this is the only place I used the rear.
  15. Bike transport inside Bronco

I flat tow the Bronco behind my RV and take two e-bikes. E-bikes (and expensive mtn bikes or bicycles in general) are a target for theft while travelling and the dirt and water spray isn't good for them, particularly the e-bikes. I prefer to keep the bicycles inside the Bronco when travelling...
  16. Black Diamond lift/suspension upgrade

Thanks. I'll probably not level it because I keep a bunch of 'stuff' in the back, e-bikes, air compressor, recovery gear, tools, etc. It pretty much levels out with that weight. On another note, as far as I can tell, there shouldn't be an issue with the 33" tires rubbing the upper control...
  17. Black Diamond lift/suspension upgrade

I have a non-sas BD. I'm planning to put 33" tires on it (on the stock rims) when the 32" wear out and I'm thinking about going to Bilstein 5100 with stock springs and use the 1" lift position. I'd like to get a little more clearance. I drove a non-sas Badlands at the Texas Off-roadeo and it...
  18. Bronco Vs K5, design perspective

All Electric? No grill vents made me wonder.
  19. Flat tow equipment needed to flat tow the 2021 Bronco?

I use a Roadmaster Nighthawk all terrain tow bar (~$1150 Roadmaster Nighthawk All-Terrain Tow Bar w/ LED Lights - Non-Binding - RV Mount - 8,000 lbs Roadmaster Tow Bar RM-676 (etrailer.com) with the Roadmaster 035-1 bumper adaptor (~$140 Adapter for Extended D-Ring Bumper Mounts to Roadmaster...
  20. Flat towing a Bronco?

FYI, I used a Brake Buddy Charger ($30 if you buy directly from Brake Buddy, $60 from e-trailer Towed Vehicle Battery Charger | Brake Buddy® ) and wired it to the center (12V Power pin of the 6 pin connector coming from my 7 pin RV connector 12V power pin). The Brake Buddy is fused for 15A and...
