  1. Am I the only one that knows this?

hahah This dog looks as slouchy as I feel! Well, am I the only one who knows this dashboard message?: "BRAKES APPLIED, REDUCING ENGINE POWER" Kind of a, well duhhh.... moment while braking a bit on a curvy road.
  2. Looking for NW Bronco forums or people...

South of Everett towards Snohomish. slightly* interested, will keep an eye on this. I'm another one of those no FB guys. * I'll most likely be busy for any meet-up schedule, sigh........ always is that way for me.
  3. Two Door Tuesday Lets See Them Two Doors

Ha ha! I washed and waxed mine today as well (before it gets any colder here in the Pacific Northwest). I too have a good tool for cleaning bronco hooves and treads... and used it today for some large stubborn rocks in the front I just KNOW were waiting to put another ding in either my rear...
  4. Two Door Tuesday Lets See Them Two Doors

Those Southern California Broncos get all the good topless weather.... luck-hEee!! (not mine, spotted at an airpark)
  5. What did you do TO / WITH your Bronco today? 👨🏻‍🔧🧰🚿🛠

another cheap DIY from Pops. Spoiler: you won't find any blue text links to shopping sites, just my dumb photos so you won't have to add clicks to your day. :like: Got my 35-year-old CB out and made a temporary bracket on the passenger side of the console. Why CB? On the forest roads I...
  6. What did you do TO / WITH your Bronco today? 👨🏻‍🔧🧰🚿🛠

It was a good day, but not long enough. I started out late. Three things had me deciding on portable: 1. I KNOW I'm too slow getting things done like a compressor mounted. 'even thought about making a quick temporary portable mount if I got an under-hood style. You should see my CB and...
  7. What did you do TO / WITH your Bronco today? 👨🏻‍🔧🧰🚿🛠

So far, so good! I haven't aired down my 35 inch OEMs lower than 23 psi yet, so no real long airing up sessions at the end of the day. It fills the two-tires-at-a-time quick enough that I don't spend more than 15 seconds "waiting". I spend 30 seconds making sure things are packed in the back...
  8. The Jeep wave, to wave or not to wave back

yaawWWWnnnn... Who's waking this up? Ok then, Just go to places full of trees, ready to come down after summer, at the beginning of an incoming early Fall weather front with wind, and there will be no one else around to worrying about waving to. Had the place to myself: 😟 (a national...
  9. What did you do TO / WITH your Bronco today? 👨🏻‍🔧🧰🚿🛠

Another day in the Pacific Northwest, another rutted National Forest Road To the trailhead of Kelcemalk Lake, NF-4052. And airing up in the rain. sigh.... But, was one of those days when I was the only one in the area :) and didn't really need to use turnouts to stop and take a break. Off...
  10. Windshield protection

The best of luck to you! I too give room (3 seconds) ahead, back off from gravel trucks, and abhor tailgaters (what the heck is with that type of driving aggression?) My first chip came when no car/truck/bicycle/grasshopper was within 1/2 mile ahead of me. I think I fell prey to the Bronco...
  11. Bronco Smells Hot after Driving in Town ..... Brakes?

Odd one -- after a 70mph interstate drive up to a mountain pass ski place a month ago, the engine compartment smelled like burning wood! I keep a pretty clean undercarriage with no vegetation buildup. After parking, I had to check under the hood about 3 times before the smell went away and I...
  12. Tagging another Bronco

You will find no serious Jeep bashing from me. 'was 49 percent gonna buy one instead of the Bronco. In fact, this is me (a few years ago) coming up the backside of Moab (total street stock config) from the White Rim Trail during a 6-week "overlanding" trip around the western US. This XJ was...
  13. Parking garage height - how much does everyone trust the signs?

That was me too! I ordered the roof rack and couldn't find too much trustworthy info on that height dimension. I had a tape, and visited the dealership twice measuring and adjusted the garage door to open the last 1/2 inch of travel. Whew.....1.5 inches of clearance. Wasn't 10000% sure...
  14. Another What's This Part? Solved.

you got it! It looks like a spacer resting against the flat metal bracket of the roof panel hold down assy, keeping the plastic cover held in-line at the correct distance for the metal push clips to snap and stay snug. There's one on the RH side, I could feel it with my finger down there...
  15. Another What's This Part? Solved.

Hollow, like a rectangular coil. It is really bonded onto the inside cover surface. Maybe it is some weird ass part they had on hand to press against something to keep rattle down..... ? shoot, now I have to go look closer at the latch (yes, I still have the cover removed )
  16. What did you do TO / WITH your Bronco today? 👨🏻‍🔧🧰🚿🛠

You gained more experience and skill growth! Good job saving the situation.
  17. Tagging another Bronco

Tango, my plumbing apprentice, yowls (tells me) that it is either an earthquake shaking stuff up, or a valve that has something stuck in it. Or,....about 3 other things. A fairly simple job to replace the float and valve system. But to get this thread back on track: I did stop and move...
  18. Tagging another Bronco

Hahah, uhm.... I was replacing it per my better 7/8's request. (wife) This plumbing apprentice is now up to taking care of a float/valve replacement.
  19. Another What's This Part? Solved.

Seriously; I am curious what this is and am hoping someone knows. My thought is inventory tracking from the vendor or factory. 'gotta stay curious!
  20. Tagging another Bronco

Yeah, this thread is getting weird.
