I guess I got lucky getting on the last train out. There were a lot of people from multiple build weeks getting "Built" in the same period. That is probably causing shipping delays. Logistics cannot be fun when dealing with cars right off the line, cars taken to QC, cars waiting on parts, and...
I've upgraded my stalking ways. The last update was in Ft. Madison, Iowa around 1:45pm. I was able to pull up the rail cam on youtube and find the rail car. Everyone say hi to my Bronco! :ROFLMAO:
Scratch that. I called the CSX number again to see if it told me something different. Apparently, Gibson was not the switch over to UP, it just switched engine trains to BNSF. However, it made its way to Edelstein, IL at 5:40 am this morning. No ETA or final destination was noted. Very...
Any trick to calling the UP number? It takes multiple attempts for it to recognize 'C'. It will give me 'E', 'P', 'B', etc. Then when I finally get 'C' it botches a letter it doesn't normally botch. Very frustrating. I try numbers only but it doesn't find it in the system.
Finally made it to the rail transfer point in Gibson, IN at 3 am. Only five days off from the original scheduled time. I’m happy. It’s probably going to arrive when I go on vacation next week. 🤣
Now I need to learn how to use UP/BNSF tracking for the rest of the way.
There might be one in the rail car with mine, but I have a badlands. 3rd day in Garrett, IN and the tracker is still telling me it should have arrived in Gibson last night. I don’t know how reliable the tracker is on updating.
I thought rail tracking would be more exciting, but it is marred with constant delays.
Originally shipped 6/25 and was supposed to transfer to UP on 6/28. However, that date keeps getting pushed back after taking a day to leave MAP, 2 days in Walbridge, OH, and currently a whole day in...
C is on dial 2 but in position 3 of ABC. So you enter 23.
T is on dial 8 but in position 1 of TUV. So you enter 81.
You are telling the machine which dial to look at first, then which position the letter is on that dial. S would be 74.
FOR ALL BEING SHIPPED BY RAIL
I’ve perfected my call in experience to track my rail car. All I have to say is “done” to get the location. My Bronco has left Michigan and made it to Walbridge, OH outside of Toledo last night.
The key to calling in is to know how to type in the letters instead...
