@hilmerdm - my advise from personal experience - do the sub first and I think youâll find the kick panel speakers become a non issue. The Memphis donât have as much low punch or bass as the OEM B&O kick panel speakers. It would be the last thing I would do - if you do them at all.
I should have been more specific - I found if you faded to full rear with the Bronco with the factory B&O, it didnât sound great at all. Even with upgraded speakers, full fade is not strong at all. At least to my ears, it could be much better. Granted I did this when I first installed my Hertz...
@justinp72 - the big advantage to the Plug N Play harness is you pick up your signal for the subwoofer before the signal hits the B&O amp/DSP and therefore you remove the factory bass volume roll off. I would strongly recommend it - plus Joe makes it to connect directly to the Kicker or Musway...
To answer the question about the Hertz, I would say they are a bit louder than stock but with much better quality that the stock B&O speakers. I canât comment on the other brands you listed, but great data on the other speakers too. Your point about adjustments is valid - adjusting from the...
Did you also upgrade the rear pod speakers to the Hertz as well ? If you fade the balance all the way to the back, the pods will sound quite poor - not sure why. If you are at center balance or just a click back - they really do sound much better than the stock pod speakers. I am debating on...
I did the Memphis: my opinion is that I gained clarity and midrange, but feel like I lost some low end punch. With the aftermarket subwoofer, one could make the argument that I donât need low end punch at my feet. Verdict is not out yet. I would say Iâm neutral at the moment as I have no...
The Hertz or the Infinityâs can handle being powered by external amps - including the Mobridge. The Hertz can take 30RMS or 60 watts peak - thatâs a lot for a little 4 inch speaker. The infinityâs can take 35 RMS. Either would sound great with dedicated amps if you decided to scrap the B&O Amp...
@TerryB - I have read elsewhere that the Hertz c165l speakers have "veins" in the material which looks like what you are showing. Did you remove all the tabs from inside the Metra speaker mounts ? I know I had to remove all the inner tabs when I installed my Memphis 6.5's in the Kick Panels...
Hi @AmbyMc - Happy to add the part about the Hertz 4 inch speakers have that funky connectors - most people just add the right size spade connector or cut the connectors off and solder the wires. Happy to add that detail to the above post. In regards to the suggestion about changing the 4...
@Ducati1098 - I was going to consider ordering new plastic rear quarter trim - the heat weld broke first time I removed the panel - tried JB Weld and it just doesnât hold on the smooth plastic. When I look at any of the Ford sites, the 2Dr rear quarter trim showâs discontinued? Any ideas what...
