Told by Dealer 3/14 build and given vin
Base, 2 Door, Eruption Green, only option is automatic transmission.
The 3/14 date was provided a couple weeks ago....I am afraid it may have changed with recent shutdowns.
$500 seems pretty common. $100 was reservation before orders were being taken. Often at conversion to order it seemed $500 was frequently asked for. It is refundable either way.
As for my experience, reservation July 2020 dealer did not ask for more than the $100 I reserved it for, but I...
I absolutely prefer mirrors to tech. Don't care one way or another about blind spot mirror, but I don't want the tech, no light, no alert...I don't want to develop dependencies on those.
That is a very recent order. There are many of us who placed initial reservations in July of 2020 that are starting to wait....while those reservations were converted to formal orders Winter/spring of 2021, and rolled over to 22 in October 22, supposedly we have priority over orders placed...
I haven't seen 2 door as mannequin or stock units available for test drive. Then again I haven't widely looked. It is just that hard tops are harder to come by and 4 door soft top are by far the most common available.
I did drive a 2-door at off rodeo.
I think the dealers believe they have a chance at crazy markup but in practical I think that time is past. I know of several dealers sitting on ones they are trying to get 20k ADM now, but not seeing them moving. I am sure they are getting 2k to 5k ADM as there is enough buyers who will...
Do your estimations about when us with first day/week reservations "should" get it factor in all the newer orders that keep getting picked up ahead of us? Or is it based solely on when production totals are large enough to cover those initial order numbers? It seems new orders getting picked...
Thanks, good to know. It says orders placed earlier don't require it....but I am thinking it is wise to get it verified cause Ford seems to be definitely favoring new orders over older reservations.
The link you give it says it specifically excludes Broncos. I wish it is that simple....although I have to say, of the two orders I have in, the newest the dealer requested all paperwork so they could submit to ford to verify and the old order at another dealer they say it isn't needed. Well...
One of the earlier posts in your threat someone said they placed a 2 door order today.
Just to add to that "stock" vs "retail" order perhaps limiting it, due to MIC top issues I recall sometime back dealers were being told to only order 4 door soft tops. So maybe 2 door is locked out of a...
Mine says "ordering with dealer"
What does back door link say? add your reservation number to the end of this
https://www.ford.com/buy/manage.html?reservationId=
I'll go with the tow package as probably it. The 2 door (which means hard top too) seems to also be a limiting factor but I seen some November and December orders (without even a reservation) for a 2 door get build dates. I am seriously thinking of dropping the tow package myself.
Interestingly enough if you look at tow package option (at least as it lists now) it says "doesn't include trailer brake controller" and it seems to me that is the only place a "chip" would be needed.
I assume you mean October 2021 order date.
A VIN will only be assigned when a production date is scheduled.
Since there are people (like me) with reservations going all the way back to July 2020 you are 15 months behind on the waiting list. Now incredibly the process has gotten all messed...
I originally posted no luck my first week reservation is still not got a build date, but it turns out that my second order, which I thought I had cancelled in favor of purchasing a Ranger, got picked up. The day I was to sign the papers (last Thursday) the Dealer told me and let me decide to...
It seems a stretch to expect to get both if second one was to "fix" an earlier mistake allocating your reservation to someone else. It would seem you should get priority with the first one built based on the earlier reservation and the replacement and delay for that replacement goes to the...
